I finally brought myself to watch it after the many years iv been hearing about it. Must say: Although clearly anti-drug, a good reason for prozac.

One thing that pist me off that I read--Its stuck with the NC17 rating b/c it shows the bad side effects of drugs? wtf? Aronofsky was dead right to appeal, and should have won. Theres no way you could have cut the final montage and had the film mean nearly as much as it did.

There couldnt be a better-antidrug/sex campaign if you funded it with a billion dollars. The main goal of the FCC is, correct me if im wrong--But to cencor material that might be considerd offenseive or influence peopel to do wrong. Although I understand the cencoring on occasion, the influential aspect comes first I believe, and this movie is one of the greatest anti-drug presentations that could ever have been put together.

I think I actually took a lot from that film, and may be much better for it.

The 4th, going by what your saying, lost her sanity then.

Ellen Burstyn got nominated for best leading actress (rightly so I think. She probably should have won, although I cant think of who else was nominated in 2000).

It won many other awards though. If your really curious:
