Openoffice is great. I use it under linux and windows with no problems whatsoever.
It's a little more resource intensive than Microsoft Office, but the price is much better.

It's great. It was a major boost to Linux, too. Microsoft managed to position Office as a critical application, and then refused to build it for any alternative OS's, and only built it for Apple in exchange for Apple completely leaving markets that they once dominated. OO shoots that right down.

yup. works great.
I have even used it to fix damaged .xls and word docs.
for whatever reason they wouldnt open in Excel or Word.. but they opened fine in OpenOffice.
Then I could save them again and they'd work ok in Office.

Only thing Microsoft could make that would'nt suck is a vaccum cleaner.

OO is all I use... F' MS Office.
