My dreams recently have been taking one of two paths.

Apocalyptic dreams:
* City on the edge of a lake of fire, bridges over the fire, multiple dreams of the same location where i interact with the near empty city
* Dark skies over and dark tunnels under modern cities
* In the basement of my dad's house while a nearby city is under nuclear attack

These apocalyptic dreams are NOT scarry usually, just simply bewildering. Where does this shit come from?

Criminal / mercenary type dreams:
* kidnapped an elephant boy from a school and teleported through towns while being chased by cheerleaders :D
* (last night's dream) As the team leader of a squad of commandos, we assaulted a squad of asian soldiers holed up in a trailor. Soon after our attack, an army rolled through - I pulled out some really crazy moves, using enemy AKs, but ran out of ammo at a critical time. I managed to get away in disguise.
* went head to head against a swat team and got blown away by an mp-5.

If you've never been shot in a dream, i highly reccomend it. It's FUN!!

Oh, and one more thing - it's very easy to control your dreams if you look for a few things (borrowed from "Waking Life" but they work):
1. Look for a clock. If its not clearly readable, realize you're dreaming but make a conscious effort to not wake up
2. Look for a light switch. Flipping it on and off usually does nothing, and if you can see in what should be the dark you know it's time to get creative.:nice:

What have your dreams been like?

The brujo Don Juan (of the Carlos Castaneda books) instructed that dream control can be obtained by looking at your hand, then looking away once they begin to shift into something else, and looking back again, thus an action of control and a cue that you are dreaming.

My first dream control occurred as a child with the realization that being chased by King Kong was an impossibility and therefore a dream, at which point I turned around and chased that overgrown ape out of town.

Ever since I stopped drinking I began dreaming about drinking. Specifically I dream about being in college and being drunk.

I also dreamed I was a cat.

I think I have the oddest dreams ever. No really...

My last major dream was that I humans were trying to reach another dimension - which we were going to access through a giant eyeball in space (complete with optic nerve). However something went wrong and the aliens managed to get into our dimension by exploding out of the eyeball (causing shards of frozen blood to spill across space). The aliens were the colour of oil on water and were books with arms and big teeth set into the binders.

Eventually the aliens made it to earth and the only way we could stop them was by stealing a train and crashing it into the train station in a village. So we broke into the back garden of a woman who gave us all drinks and let us play on her swings. Then we stole the train and crashed it into the station and the aliens went away. end of dream.

And here's the thing. That is a pretty average dream by my standards.

My brain is weird.

when I saw this thread "dream circle", I was afraid to click on it, it sounded a little "funny"... then I saw who posted it and figured it would be ok .... it was.

I really have nothing else to contribute, sorry. :)
