Of all the shootingstars i knew
I never felt at ease with anyone but you
Don't ever wonder where i go
Remember that the grass still grows beneath the snow
When everything around turns blue
Just fall asleep and wake when it's all through

I like how music can compartmentalize my life. I feel like certain lyrics or songs can bring me back to any moment. I associate my history with sounds and smells. I remember getting into a friends car, after maybe years of seeing her, and it reminded me of high school all over again. Same things with certain friends houses or ex girlfriends perfumes.

Songs are the same for me. They can immediatley help me relive 1000 different moments. It can remind me a person, an event, a place, or a time of my life. Sometimes, a song can remind me of multiple people, multiple places. Sometimes you just relate very closely to a song...

Ozma has always been great to help me celebrate and lament love and relationships. Their music can make you smile ridiculously big with a line like "we'll hijack a plane and we're never going to land" or "of all the shooting stars I knew I never fell for anyone but you." Sometimes music is just so optimistic that you can't help but be happy with what you have.

Their music can remind you of lost love or just help drown yourself in sorrows:

I'd give my heart if you'd give your attention
But when i look there's just an open trench

I'd give my heart if i had one for giving
I'd give my heart your lips could keep me living
I'd give my heart and always be forgiving
I'd give my heart if i had one for giving

I've been overdosing on Ozma since they've shown signs of life and got back together, so I am going through these magnificent memories and sorrow filled moods.

Check out Ozma @ the Knitting Factory or Chain Reaction in March. I got some extra tickets, hit me up if you wanna go with me.
