View Full Version : PC THX Speakers on a TV?

I've been reading review after review, and most say that the speakers on most LCD's are inadequate (go figure). I was looking at options, and found the Bose Cinemate. Reading on AVSforum and most people despise Bose and their price and one person suggested getting a good set of THX speakers used for PC's.

Seems like a good idea. I don't need 5.1 sound. I have a receiver and everything. I just wanted more sound from the LCD I'm about to get. I don't need it loud, as I'll be in an apt. I also don't want to take up alot of room. These little speakers, such as the Logitech 2300, seem to be a perfect match.

Now, I know they have a headphone style plug (3.5 I think is what it's called?). Do they make an adapter so that I could just plug it into the TV or should I just plug it into the headphone jack and leave the speakers on all the time, that way, when I turn the TV on, good sound is waiting? I was even thinking that I leave my Logitech Z560 (can't remember model) on all the time for my PC so this shouldn't be a problem.

I guess my only real question is, has anyone else done this? It seems like a much cheaper option then going with Bose or something else that requires a receiver.

When I've used PC speakers in the past, I've not found them that great for TV viewing. I find that watching a sitcom, they are fine, but an action movie, or a show like 24, there was something missing, it wasn't as full of a sound.

I'd look at one of those CHEAP HTIB setups, I have one of those and its great.

i agree, thats what i would do too. But if you want to go with Computer speakers you can get 1/8th ==> RCA adapter cables and run em if you want. The logitechs look nice, but personally i would go for the Klipsh's.

I have a HTIAB setup already, just didn't want to use the receiver. I'm going for simplicity here ;)

I have the logitechs for my pc, I may just buy a 2.1 system for my computer and use the 4.1's for my TV, but in 2.1 capacity

eh, I dunno... just thought I would see if anyone else had tried
