Ok.. here is the situation.

2 PC's
2 Monitors

Is there anyway I can hook up the Mouse and Keyboard to some type of "splitter" in order to use it with both PC's?

What I wanted to try and accomplish is to have two Monitors on my desk, two PC's underneath the desk, and to use 1 Keyboard, and 1 Mouse and pushing a button to switch between the two PC's.... rather than having the clutter of 2 Keyboards/Mouse.

Not sure if this is possible.
Suggestions?

Google "KVM Switch"

If you'd rather have a single monitor, KVM will cover that as well. Just get a single KVM. If you go above thirty bucks, you're paying waayyy too much.

Ehhh, PS2 ones are that cheap, USB ones aren't that cheap yet :hmm:
I wish they were :P

But yeah, just leave each monitor plugged into the video cards on each PC instead of using the KVM's VGA port and use the KVM's ports for the peripherals.

Well, maybe where you shop they're not that cheap, but from where I get my stuff, it's definitely inexpensive.

USB ones start at about $30 and they give horrible lag for gaming
Most of my stuff comes from CDW or NewEgg.

I shop my dad's office. Cheaper than a five fingered discount.

I think only the video component really offers any sort of lag. Other than that, I find that there's really not much that it slows down.

Yeah they are. Luckily he doesn't need DVI support since he's going to have 2 monitors :D
