A few weeks ago, I was trapped in the back seat of a car as my girlfriend and her best friend sat up front singing along with a CD comprised mostly of pop music.

After a few minutes of this, I decided that I wanted to burn something.

A few well-placed phone calls later, and a spur of the moment bonfire was set for that night at Dockweiler beach. Only seven people attended that fire, but it was fun and a good way to spend the evening. Also, when we first arrived at the beach, it was totally deserted. No one else showed up until a good while after we did. By the end of the night, it was decided that we should do this again repeatedly until the beach is again crowded at night and filled with people we would rather avoid.

Last week's bonfire was over double the size of the first one, maxing out at 17 people. It was a Socialist bonfire, too. :p Everybody brought something, everybody took something out. Sodas, chips, s'mores, firewood, other drinks, random munchies, etc, were all present, and mostly consumed by night's end. And one of my friends, a pyrotechnician, brought fun chemicals that turned the fire pretty colours. :) We were the only ones on the beach with a fire that burned green. :D

This week, we will be having the third such bonfire, and will hopefully enlarge our circle to encompass 20 people or more.

Be careful, some cop might decide you are breaking some law with that fire.

The beach has fire pits, and is open until 10 p.m. We keep the fire contained within the fire pit and leave by 10.

S'all good. :)
