View Full Version : Speak In Whispers

I cast my eyes away
from the painful sight
of his face.
I'm afraid I'll begin to love him again,
though this feeling I try to erase.
My mind whirls,
everything is mixed together.
What happens when?
I hear his voice saying good-bye,
then everything's a blur again.

(chorus)
I am of sorrow, suffering, and pain.
Of released tears,
of one hundred drops of rain.
I am merely a shadow of darkness,
hidden in the background.
I speak in whispers,
but make no other sound.
(chorus end)

The rain is pouring,
soaking through my thin
cotton clothes.
I find that I have shed a tear
for each drop of rain,
and wonder if anyone else knows.
I try to run, to escape my pain,
to escape my destiny.
But it doesn't matter
how far or fast I run,
because the pain is me.

(chorus)

Fears suddenly darkened,
I run off the edge of this planet.
Remembering my past,
all the little things that I took
for granted.
The darkness swallows me,
but I can still see;
in a mirror, it's the thing I fear most;
it's me.

(chorus X2)

The ending is reminiscent of H.P. Lovecraft's "The Outsider."

Is that bad?

I've never heard that song, though. :p

It's neither good nor bad, honey - just interesting. Of course, I didn't think you were ripping off Lovecraft. :D
