For whatever reason my monitor is set at a refresh rate of 60 Hertz.. which tends to create some ghosting problems. Now when I go into:

Properties >Advanced Monitor Settings

...it allows me to change it to 70 or 75 Hertz.

My question is:
Can running it at a higher setting cause any problems?
Monitor Burn out, etc...

Naw.

70 or 75 should never be an issue.

If you had a really old one and had the resolution massively high, it might not work at 75, but you'd know immediately as the screen went unreadable. You wait 15 seconds hitting NO keys and it'll set back. But even this is unlikely.

Cool, thanks Froggie-O

I believe it was set at 60 because I previosly had it set at a 1600x1200 resolution. I changed it to a 1280x1024 @ 75 Hertz... hopefully that will help with some of the more graphically intense games.

It should, yes.

60 is the default rate for an untested mode.

Windows 2000 and XP default to 60 hz for all resolutions. It's crap.

60hz gives me a headache after like 10 mins.. Gotta run atleast 70.

Get a decent video card and you could run it 1600x1200 @ 75 :nice: .... don't go up to 80 though .... 80 summons ghosts and angery spirits, they'll come and take your soul.
