No, really, numb. I can't feel my fingertip.

I sliced my finger a few days ago in a kitchen accident. Cut through the whole skin, sliced my finger open. Right across the joint, too, which doubly sucks.

My pain threshold behing what it is, however, I simply said to my girlfriend, "I need a paper towel. Now." I then informed my flatmate that he's driving me to the E.R. to get it looked at, and off we went.

That was Tuesday.

I never lost feeling in my fingertip itself, so the nerve to my finger isn't severed. But I can't feel right where the center of my fingerprint is at all. It's still numb. And it pisses me off because I get some tingly sensation whenever I touch anything with it. IT FEELS WEIRD!!!!

And I have 5 stitches in my finger, so I can't straighten my finger out the entire way, nor can I bend it more than it is due to the stitches. Frigging sucks. And hurts when I do something to make it angry. :mad:

The numbness shouldn't be permanent, and should go away in a couple weeks, but until then my finger's still going to feel weird.

Dammit.

It'll come back in time.

Oh, I know. It's a superficial nerve that was severed--if it was severed at all--and those almost always regenerate as soon as the skin does.

My uncle chopped the tip of his thumb off on Christmas eve. He didn't have to go to the hospital, but it was FLAT...:p
