I was burning uncopywrited DVDs fine and all of a sudden Nero said "Not enough space available to burn". What? I'm frustrated. What changed? I've burned this DVD at least 7 times. Can anyone offer some insight?

Thanks

Can you change the compression settings on this program? You might lose some video quality but you should be able to burn. I presume this "no room" message refers to your DVD not to space on your harddrive.

He said he'd burned it a bunch of times before...

First things first, I'd try another disk. Could have a coaster...:)

Could be a bad disk yeah, but I assumed he tried a few, but perhaps I should not have assumed even that basic measure.

Could be a memory problem also something not freed up. Could try rebooting.

I've rebooted a couple of times. It won't even begin to read the original. I know its something simple, but damn.

Check to make sure you have sufficient free space available on your hard drive.

are you sure you have your dvd writter selected and not that virtual disk that nero can install?
I did that once and got that message.

Burn as data?

He shouldnt be burning it as data, he should be burning it to make a video DVD.

True. *sighs* I assume people know the basics of using technology too much, and I shouldn't since I am usually disappointed.

I don't have a clue. I just throw in my 2 cents anyways.

id guess low disk space... if you burn dvds and have unchecked "on the fly" option youll need cca 4.5 gb free disk space for the image.. probably you lack it...
or youre trying to burn dl dvd on a normal one.
