What are some of you & your partner's different personality traits????

For example, is one of you a neat freak, while the other is a slob?? Or is one a Good Time Charlene & the other is a homebody???

The longer we're together, the more alike we become. I like to think that's because we learn from each other's attributes.

My wife gets easily stressed out, while I take everything in stride and rarely get stressed.

I'm a morning person and have no problem jumping out of bed at 5:00 AM, while she needs electric shocks to get her ass out of bed at 9.

I am better about exercise and can stick to a plan. She needs more encouragement and coaching.

She's got low tolerance for customer service people and usually gets what she wants. I'm more of a wuss.

She's a planner, while I take things as they come.

I'm the good cop. She's the bad cop. I'e got much better people skills.

She's got incredible patience with the dog and cats, while I get frustrated at them more often.

She gets angry rather easily, while it takes a lot to rile me up (and this in itself pisses her off).

She is more competitive than me, but I have more drive and a higher threshhold for pain.

In my last relationship he was a 'bury your head in the sand' kinda guy. I face things head on. One of the things that ultimately brought our relationship to and end.

Some differences compliment, others tear you apart. There's the rub!

He's very, very laid back and patient, and i can get riled up about things. But he's really great at relaxing me. He's also really good at encouraging me when i think i'm about to wimp out. The kids i babysit for think i'm so much more lively and energetic than he is, but that isnt true, because he's always down for anything, ice skating, bike rides, a movie, just hanging out, suggesting something else. And while he isnt loud about it like i am, he never gets pushed over either.

We are alike in that we have fun doing a lot of the same things, and we both like to stay home some times, and go out other times. We are both not morning people.

I tend to fall asleep on the couch rather than getting enthralled with football.

In everyday life he is so laid back, but when he's playing a game/sport he goes all out, and i am generaly very laid back, but rather then getting competitive in a game i get even MORE laid back and less competitive. It's almost like we switch in those situations.
BTW, our differences tend to compliment, not divide. :)

I used to date a guy who was an opposite to me, and it was more tiring than fun in the long run, I like when things run smoothly.

Most of our differences are culinary. And I'm political, while she's apathetic.

But I'm working on that one. ;)

"Truly"

I used to be more apolitical, but i had my opinions and views about the issues. Ya cant go out with a guy who works for a senator and not gain a new respect for politics.

He likes science fiction, I can't stand it

He loves veggies, they make me :barf:

I like cheesier music than he does

I lean more towards the left than he does

He's more logical in thinking; I tend to let my heart rule my head

I like to drink occassionally; he doesn't drink

I smoke, he doesn't

I am a lot more jealous than he is

I like baseball, he thinks it's boring

But I think that, like in probably everyone's relationships here, the differences compliment one another. I don't want to date my clone.

Good question really. We have very different histories to say the least.

We have very similar backgrounds. I'm sure between the 2 of us we probably attended close to 100 different schools mainly from moving so much. We both dropped out of high school and did a lot of partying at a very young age. The difference is, I got it out of my system about 10 years before he did even though he's 8 years older than me.

Under stress, I isolate and try to find stability, he does the opposite.

He makes friends quickly and easily, since he is charming and very in-tune with other people's social needs. I am retarded that way and don't know how to read the simplest body language, and it takes most people a while to decide that I'm not a complete nut and am actually worth knowing. I have a very very hard time making friends IRL.

He was the most popular boy in all 17,000 high schools he went to, I was the most picked on girl.

I am a morning person, he is night.

I prefer things to be neat and clean, he doesn't care.

We're both completely head-over-heels in love with and obsessed with our dog(s).

I'm assertive most of the time, he lets people walk all over him in the name of "social grace"

He's interested in history, I generally find it incredibly boring.

He smokes, I quit.

He doesn't mind loud music or noise, violent movies and video games, or scary movies. I can't stand any of those things.

He is remarkably desensitized to bad cooking. I am very picky.

He's a sugar junkie, I prefer food not sweets.

He uses pillow shams, I use pillow cases. Reason being if I put regular cases on his pillows they're gone by morning.

He's the world's deepest sleeper, I am very easily awoken.

he is who cares if the biggest storm of the summer is coming (beat it, I'm playing Fear).
I'd rather be camping in a storm. I only play video games when I've ran out of other interesting stuff to do.

he is hates pasta.
I don't hate it, I just prefer some sort of dead animal on my plate. :) I hate it when you cook it because you turn it into mush.

he is wears clothes till holes form.
I like to get my money's worth out of them. :|

he is likes to sleep in ice cold conditions.
I prefer the term "comfortable conditions".

he is knows what he wants when he goes into the store.

I prefer to avoid the store all together and shop online. Stores have to have been a woman's idea. :nonono:

he is not the poetry writing kind of guy.
I hate poetry.

She likes to clean the house. I like to dirty it.

She likes talking on the phone. I don't.

She like to babble on about windchill, average temperatures, and humidity. I just want to know if it's going to snow or rain that day.

She is bi. I am not. :nice:
