No way your 36 years old ! Maybe 18 at best . hope you exspand your musical horizons ,and soon . So the healing can begin .

You need to mellow out some . Try some soft music that has a little more positive tone and lyrics .

I am 36. I do, in fact, like most types of music, from the easiest listening classical stuff to the most brutal black metal.

How 'bout some hard lyrics w/ positivity, like Hatebreed's "I Will Be Heard":

Now is the time for me to rise to my feet
Wipe your spit from my face
Wipe these tears from my eyes

Now is the time for me to rise to my feet
Wipe your spit from my face
Wipe these tears from my eyes

I've got to take my life back
One chance to make it right
I've gotta have my voice be heard
And bring meaning to this life

Cause I've trusted for nothing
I've been led astray
I've been tried and tested
But I won't accept defeat
Now I've done things I regret
And its time to reverse the rules
I just want to make good on
All the promises that I have made

I will be
I will be...I will be heard
I will be...I will be heard

Now is the time for me to rise to my feet (I will be heard)
Wipe your spit from my face
Wipe these tears from my eyes (I will be heard)

Through the worst we prevail
So our voices will be heard
Through the worst we prevail
So our voices will be heard
Through the worst we prevail
So our voices will be heard
Through the worst we prevail
So our voices will be

Now is the time for me to rise to my feet
Wipe your spit from my face
Wipe these tears from my eyes

Now is the time for me to rise to my feet
Wipe your spit from my face
Wipe these tears from my eyes

I've got to take my life back

I just don't like to see young people be hurt anymore than they already are . Some music can mke things worse and cause depresion . Some music can bring on peace .

Well, to me, music is just something enjoyable to listen to, no matter if it has a positive or negative message. If a particular song has a negative message, only the kids who take it to seriously get hurt and/or hurt others.

Granted, some of my music is very negative. That doesn't mean I'm gonna go out and kill people for the dark lord. I consider myself an open-minded christian who just happens to like dark music (as well as the lighter stuff).

Well thank goodness for forums like this ! It gives those who are not so mobile a place to exspress themselves and have contact , people like you and I . I am not too mobile because of age and have a husband to look after sometimes, but mostly he is ok, just has bad days . Tthere are other young folks here too .

"WHOLE LOTTA WOMAN" - The CONTOURS The group was famous for their BIG hit at MOTOWN - "DO YOU LOVE ME? (Now That I Can Dance)", and for bringing DENNIS EDWARDS to prominence both in the group and as DAVID RUFFIN's replacement in The TEMPTATIONS..

THIS jam, however, SHOULD have been their SIGNATURE HIT TUNE....(It promptly nosedived.. :( )

It is one FLOOR-POUNDING, WACKED-OUT, CONCRETE-SHAKING MAMMOTH!:nice:

But don't take MY word for it.... Give a listen YOURSELF! (Link Courtesy The HITSVILLE SOUL CLUB - Just click on the picture of the record to listen!) (http://www.hitsvillesoulclub.com/playsnds/august06.html)

If you aren't dancin' to this'n, don't bother to call a doctor..It's too late..You're already dead..:D

The Retired Badge # 88 (C.P.D.) has SPOKEN!!!!!!

Music can be a good place to go to get out of reality for awhile . I use it lots of times to pretend . And some times to be in the moment of sadness or glee . I can anywhere and do anything sometimes with music without leaving the farm . Of course they say the same thing about weed, but musics legal and no side effects if I'm careful . I do have a couple beers or wine some of these times, but mostly i don't drink .

I will probably put on the Platters and Bing or Alman Bros. later when Pappy is done with radio . I heard , 'Keep On Smiling ' today, by Wet Willie .
