View Full Version : Happily married folks, speak up!
Baboon 11-22-2005, 01:16 PM I think it's the nature of this forum to bring out mostly problems, complaints, and relationship issues. Anyway, I'm curious how many of you are HAPPILY married.
I am. Been married 4.5 years to a great girl. :)
Ironweed 11-22-2005, 01:25 PM Married 17 years, with her for 3 years before that.
I don't regret a minute. :)
(Just maybe some hours :p )
Dogberry 11-22-2005, 05:02 PM 13 years unlucky for some:)
The Frog 11-22-2005, 05:11 PM 9¼ years here!
Wouldn't change a thing.
Well, okay, I'd have bought Microsoft in 96 and sold it in 99, but otherwise no.
Spazola 11-22-2005, 06:02 PM Awwww...I like this thread. :)
Mystlet 11-22-2005, 06:14 PM Bah, I suck at teh marriage! :P
Ponycar_302 11-22-2005, 07:24 PM I like my wife fine just so long as she keeps the iced tea coming. :nice:
an obedient wife rocks :)
caicos 11-22-2005, 08:43 PM Happy is such a relative term. Marriages would last longer if we would teach people that like everything else worthwhile, a good, solid marriage takes work and attention.
I'm happy to say that I have 29 satisfying years, including some bumpy times that have made the length of the journey more rewarding for having overcome obstacles together.
Good thread, acknowledging one of the most important relationships people choose to engage in.
an obedient wife rocks :)

An obedient husband rocks more. :|

Baboon 11-23-2005, 12:10 PM Being married is cool. All I ever heard from older guys when I was in my late teens and early 20's was how much marriage sucks. I got married despite their advice, and I couldn't be happier.
I must have been given the wrong marriage manual, because my wife is feisty and definitely NOT what I would consider obedient.
Samson 11-23-2005, 12:18 PM to note:
1. Thread is almost 24 hours old
2. I'm guessing only 3 females have responded
3. Two are not married
4. Myst may be married but admits that it's she "sucks" at it.
:hmm:
I conclude that the silence among married female DA members, along with many other social indicators is enough of an indictment to predict marriage is a dying institution.
kellet 11-23-2005, 12:26 PM STFU Samson! I just saw the thread. I am happily married and an ideal wife. So STFU.

Katalina 11-23-2005, 02:43 PM We met in 1989. Had our good times, bad times, laughter, tears, and two beautiful babies along the way. Some think you must be completely alike or close to it, to succeed in your marriage. I couldn't stand it if he was just like me, or like the same things as me. We are two very different people, big time! Like night and day. :p
To me, marriage is about two people who learn how to grow together in life and respect ones individuality. Then learn how to expand your interests to together.
We've done it, and I'll love no other. :)

I was married at 18, it lasted 10 years...we should have parted much sooner. I was left with nothing but my kids & our clothes...I met potential Mr Right #2 just after my divorce, but he passed away in 2003.
Currently I am living with 'seems to be perfect dude' but truthfully, I don't know if I have it in me to give my whole heart away ever again. I could happily live this way forever...but I will never walk down the aisle again.

For a second I though Frog had written this (My mind playing tricks on me) and I was going WTF?! And then i saw who it really was and it made sense.
MamaG 11-23-2005, 11:16 PM I've known my hubby for 20 yrs., married for 16 and very happy :nice:

You want teh hawt sex moi. :hiya:
kellet 11-24-2005, 01:40 AM I was born to be married. Even as a teenager my relationships lasted years. I would have married my husband after a couple months but he was older and wiser and made me wait, because I was so young and he wanted to make sure I was sure and wouldn't regret my decision.
KillZone 11-24-2005, 03:33 AM Happily married for almost 23 years.

I'm female. I really like my husband, he's a cool dude. :) We've been married 3.5 years and we dated almost 3/2.5 years. Everyone has different tag lines when it comes to marriage, I think mine is: the couple that plays together stays together. Also, just friggin' take it easy, it ain't the end of the world.
:p
Criminal 12-08-2005, 11:25 PM Happy some of the time. I have been hitched since 2000 with my current Mrs. It has not always been perfect but I'm surviving. Marriage is actually a lot like slavery, its not always fun but the work is steady.:)
illianna1782 12-09-2005, 02:54 PM Been married for almost 2 months and have known my husband for 2 years. Things are going great even with all the circumstances.
