ROFLMAO. Time to lay off the drugs. Will there be a monument for the bird? Flags at half staff? Moment of silence? We join you in your national grief, LMAO.

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Dutch animal lovers are mourning a sparrow shot dead after it fluttered into an exhibition hall and knocked over thousands of dominoes set up in preparation for a world record attempt.
The sparrow will be commemorated in a live Dutch television broadcast of the domino-toppling Friday after a wave of national outrage at the shooting.
"We know we are responsible for a lot of emotion in the country and we realize we couldn't go on without properly marking this," said Jeroen van Waardenberg, a spokesman for reality TV company Endemol, the firm behind "Big Brother."

Why do you assocciate this to drug use? The whole dutch population does not spend all their time in coffe shops. Has anyone been to Amsterdam? I would say they manage life very good for having their soft drugs available. Its the tourist you have to watch out for lol

A. Sparrows are cute.
B. This sparrow did something outrageous before it got shot
C. Sparrows are a protected species in the netherland... Imagine a Bald Eagle gets nipped in the wing on accident at a national rifle convention, and then instead of calling a vet they blow its head off. I doubt youd get such a huge reaction, but many americans would likely feel kind of annoyd.
D. Your not high enough to feel bad for the bird. :)

Europeans treat animals "uniquely" I guess. They used to put animals on trial, if suspected of commiting a crime, as well. Like old teutonic germans, who if they found a rat stealing food etc, would first give it a chance to "change it's ways", before exterminating.

I am shocked that equal consideration was not given to the offering of condolences to the poor Domino Arrangers. All their labor wasted.
Tis a tragedy.

If some bird knocked my dominos over I'd kill the fricken thing too...the Dutch should be tested to see if they have any natural testosterone in their systems...they could need medical intervention.
