I need bands & musicians to write commercials for my radio show on WCLM 1450 AM
Here's the deal...
Write a 30 to 45 second tune that includes the following information:
The Bopst Show
WCLM 1450 AM
The heart & Soul of Richmond, Virginia
and if you want, you can include this as well...
Monday-Friday
1-4PM
Any musical style you want.
Send it to me and I'll play it on my radio show. I'll give you credit on the show every time it's played and I'm on 5 times a week.
If you want an example, RPG, a great Richmond rock band by the way, did a jingle for me on my myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/bopst). Check it out...
Also, if you want your tunes played on the radio, SEND THEM TO ME!! I play everything so nothing is out of bounds and I'll play it at least once & with alarming regularity if people like it.
All you have to do is send it to me at:
WCLM 1450
Attention: Chris Bopst
3165 Hull Street
Richmond, Va. USA 23224
Fight the power,
BOPST

Let us know if anyone here takes you up on this one!
edited to add: I was just thinking - it might get buried here in the AEM forum. You might want to consider having a mod/admin move it to The Perpetual Open Mic Night.
may want to post it there also :)

bopst, are you going to post all the submissions and then vote or what? Any other hints as to style and theme that would be most desirable? The avatar looks like the pic from the KISS Alive album, so if that is all I have to go on I will do some heavy metal riffs.

I had an old song fragment I was messing around a while ago and tried to put the words to it. I should probably have just used spoken words like the old Raceway Park commercials since to articulate the word Bopst ain't that easy. Click me! (http://www.deecken.com/jim/bopst.mp3) I will keep it there a couple days.

I play everything from KISS to Beethoven to Mingus to Dale Watson to Kool Keith to King Tubby so any genre of music is acceptable. A band already took me up on the offer and you can hear it here... (http://www.myspace.com/bopst)
And AM is the place to be. Get this: I'm given total and complete autonomy to play whatever strikes my fancy. You gotta love it.
I hope more people take me up on the offer as a lot of people have been beaten down with endless amounts of useless spam which this is not. I'll play it over and over again and give the band or artists on air credit each time it is played. Of coarse, boom box recordings won't do, but with computer these days, it's quite easy to get a decent (more than decent) recording....

That was the old jingle correct? I must suggest dumping the myspace website for an organized one, but I guess you can network that way.
I think the thing I posted is much less annoying that that punk band's version. :) I get the feeling you did not check it out though. :(

Swweeeeeeeeeeeeeet. Thank you. You are a scholar and a gentlemen.
One thing:
It's bowpst (silent "t". Check the jingle on the myspace page)). I should have posted the pronunciation before, but I'm a man of many debilitating faults. Still, I greatly appreciate the time and effort especially coming from a total and complete stranger. I can't thank you enough.
The main site for my show and radio station can be found here: http://www.wclmradio.com
This is awesome. Anybody else who wants to contribute, feel totally free and remember, if you make it, I'll play it one an hour, 3 hours a day, 5 days a week and give you credit every time it's played.
