View Full Version : What games do you wish you had never bought? Rayney 11-13-2005, 04:32 AM Sims 2 :nonono: Shelter 11-13-2005, 04:45 AM starsky and hutch, mojo, odd world, prisoner of war, all on xbox and soldier of fortune II on pc NJ Refugee 11-13-2005, 08:06 AM Master of Orion III (The AI changes everything you do every turn) Reach for the Stars (Simply Boring) Axis & Allies (too buggy and no patch) NJ Refugee 11-13-2005, 12:39 PM And one recent addition. Civilization IV. Other the new unit promotion system and the Civics (replacing the gov't types), it's just a super-modified version of Civ III. In fact, I've got some time ... excuse me, I've got a project. DesiredRae 11-13-2005, 01:39 PM Buy games? Ha! Thats funny! My brother buys the games and then I take them from him! GROFF200 11-14-2005, 10:28 AM I can contribute a lot to this thread... Hearts of Iron for the PC...most boring strategy game ever Ninja Gaiden....you can't copy your game to another xbox if the xbox DVD drive dies as i discovered on level 15 Battlefield 2....don't expect to play it with SLI Nvidia graphics if you buy it Jedi Starfighter...so many bugs in this game I couldn't even get past level 3 Von Apfelstrudel 11-14-2005, 10:40 AM I can contribute a lot to this thread... Hearts of Iron for the PC...most boring strategy game ever give it tom me then :eek3: ĘSiR 11-14-2005, 11:07 AM Quake 4 - No bots in multi-player mode. Single Player is another, "I can't see anything fumble with my flashlight FPS. Not enough multi-player levels. Overall it's better graphically, but leaves me wondering where the rest of the game is. Not worth $50 Civ 4 - Another regret. It's Civ3 with an updated 3d Graphics engine. Also they added a ridiculous amount of depth that doesn't do anything. I know that doesn't make sense, but if you play it you'll understand. Original Civs: Archer - 3 attack, 1 defend, 1 mov New CivL Archer - 5 defend, 3 attack, 1 mov, +50% def while in a town, first-strike, veteran with +25% Defense if in trees, -25% Defense if the moon phase is opposite of your state religion, unless your Islamic in which case you get a +50% Attack if you are on the same square as a Knight named John and you have researched Ironworking. If you have 3 archers on the same square you are now granted the ability to tactical nuke your opponent if he is christian and is allied with the french, but only if the french have researched physics and have spices. ummm... k... *places archer unit in town, hits DEFEND, never clicks on it again.* Also they tell you the best move in every situation, it's got a blue, "Click here you retard" circle around the correct answer, so the game is pretty much, click what the computer tells you to and you'll win. wooo friggin hoo... City of Villains - *Shoots self in face* CoH was fun in a dorky sort of way, CoV is the exact same game with different outfits. TheNatural 12-13-2005, 03:53 PM espn skateboarding for ps2. game sucked. Monster 12-13-2005, 03:56 PM Some Dracula game for the PC. I don't remember the name because it was so horrible that I blocked it from my memory. GROFF200 12-13-2005, 05:42 PM Tiger Woods 2006. Screw that game. SwiftSloth 12-15-2005, 11:20 AM Wow. Thanks for the headsup about Civ 4. I love the 3rd and was going to pick up the 4th over break, but the way you guys describe it was pretty much what i was worried about... Lets see.. Suikoden 3&4. Summoner MGS Snake Eater (Great premise, just not fun to actually do, or I couldnt get into it.) Umm... You know, this list could go on for days, but I typically just disregard a game if I get it and dont like it, and Im not with my games, so I cant really think up much. TheAmber 12-15-2005, 03:17 PM The Inuyasha game. wtf was i smoking? Diavolo 12-22-2005, 11:20 AM A Boy and His Blob. http://www.vgmuseum.com/scans/nes/carts/a_boy_and_his_blob_cart.jpg I never, ever found a way to make it eat the stupid ketchup jellybean, which probably would've helped me finally get him back to his home planet. :P R.Tricky 12-22-2005, 05:50 PM A Boy and His Blob. http://www.vgmuseum.com/scans/nes/carts/a_boy_and_his_blob_cart.jpg I never, ever found a way to make it eat the stupid ketchup jellybean, which probably would've helped me finally get him back to his home planet. :P That is one of my all time favorite games. Ill bet if I played it right now, it would bring back so many memories. Good god, im dl-ing it! BklynzzFinest 12-23-2005, 12:52 PM Ground Control I don't know 12-23-2005, 01:29 PM Counter strike - There are no casual players on it, I log on, get killed, wait, respawn, get killed, wait, respawn, get killed et.c. Prince of Persia, warrior within - I liked sands of time, but warrior within has cheezy goffic music and the reason I never played tomb raider: getting lost is part of the challenge. I got lost, quit, never played it again. A Boy and His Blob. I never, ever found a way to make it eat the stupid ketchup jellybean, which probably would've helped me finally get him back to his home planet. - You owned a nes?! TheNatural 01-02-2006, 02:22 PM for those interested in saving a few bucks on games, gamefly is having a pretty solid year end sale--very, very low prices on a ton of different games. man i love christmas/new years sales. Diavolo 01-11-2006, 10:40 PM - You owned a nes?! Is that bad? :( Gibson 01-11-2006, 10:46 PM I agree, a boy and his blob was a crock. The only way to beat it was if you knew EXACTLY which bean to feed him each time because you got the EXACT number of beans you needed to beat the game :nonono: For me...Fester's Quest :nonono: How could they sell a game that you can't beat?! :P Diavolo 01-11-2006, 10:56 PM I agree, a boy and his blob was a crock. Heh...I never felt like I was accomplishing anything while playing it or any other game by that company. I'd buy this, change that, make this, and I never felt like I was making any substantive difference. I think I'd appreciate the game more if it were turn based instead of timed. MyFeetsHurt 01-16-2006, 10:20 PM hum... Starwars Battlefront II thats the most recent disappointment. Von Apfelstrudel 01-17-2006, 03:36 AM I think I'd appreciate the game more if it were turn based instead of timed. it IS turned based. 1 turn per day. and a playing period of 4 centuries. kill roy3 02-03-2006, 06:10 PM I'll have to say Portal Runner, the camera angles SUCK! anyone who ever played it would have to agree with me. Shadoglare 02-04-2006, 10:56 AM One Must Fall: Battlegrounds Actually might have been a cool game... but it only works like like 3 video cards or something like that, and of course the one I haven isn't one of them, and they don't tell you that on on the box... Element 02-16-2006, 04:07 PM Battlefield 1942- It wouldn't work on my computer Sims 2- It was really bori 50 bucks on those games = huge WASTE of money :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: Faustina 02-19-2006, 12:54 PM battlefield 2, star wars battlefront, day of defeat and counterstrike. All very frusrtating and useless neutral debator 02-19-2006, 05:49 PM I wish i hadn't bought any games for my xbox, except the halo games. Now that the xbox 360 is out. They're all obsolete.:not: wallijonn 02-23-2006, 12:49 PM Tomb Raider: Dark Angel. (It still holds the record for shortest time on my disk drive: 1 hour. And that was only because of the audio problem.) Any Turok game after the original. Von Apfelstrudel 02-24-2006, 11:48 AM battlefield 2, star wars battlefront, day of defeat and counterstrike.
