...especially when one considers that Israel hardly makes up only ONE PERCENT of the middle east, and the arabs will always be 'oppressed' as a minority?
Or is it more useful to keep them in 'refugee' status and play them off the Israelis? http://pichold.com/Images/Smilies/hsugh.gif
the Palestinians are the black sheep of the middle east. nobody will take 'em because nobody wants 'em. a "not in my backyard" type of thing.

Short answer: 'Cuz they don't want 'em, partly to use them as a weapon against Israel, & partly because they think they're crazy.
They're the Jews of the Arab world - someone to hate & discriminate against & blame everyone's problems on, & also piously defend when it seems politically convenient.

Why won't Californians accept Mexicans? Why won't the protestants in Northern Ireland get taken back into England?
Same story.

They do accept the invaders unfortunately. :(
Same story.
This is unintentionally a good point. The so-called "Palestinians" seem to be pawns in the Arab Muslim chess game to cause problems. The invaders from Mexico and other countries are likewise pawns by the filthy evildoers throughout the world who want to destroy the USA.

Israel attemted to give away Gaza, and it's inhabitants several times over the years. Egypt didn't want it, nor did anyone else.
Unfortunately, it is now a mini terrorist state in the making.
Lots of "Palestineans' have moved to other countries (and have assimillated into Israeli society) and have done as well as anyone else, but keeping a segment of permanenet refugees will always benefit certian parties, just as promoting perpetual , generational poverty does here in the U.S.

I think the Arab nations benefit greatly from the Palestinian refugees. Not only that, but they also probably believe that the land of Israel belongs to the Palestinians.
The existence of the refugees help in creating the perception of an evil Israel that hates Muslims. The rulers gain many benefits to having a mortal enemy, including greater stability in their own countries. In the end, there are economic rewards as well.
