I didn't really think it was funny until days after I saw it, it took a long time to work its way into my brain. But I love it now. I've still only seen it 1 1/2 times.

I didn't see Royal Tenenbaums or Rushmore, but I did see Life Aquatic. I think I chuckled once or twice watching it. That movie is so bad it's a joke between the wife and me. We'll be at the video store and I'll say, "oh look, Life Aquatic. Want to check it out?" And she'll just look at me like this: :mad: Napoleon Dynamite is comedy gold compared to that movie.

that's it!! My brother said the movie was garbage, but we'd catch him quoting it, and we just had to laugh at him!
But that really is part of it's charm, the movie doesnt have too much dialogue, and so it's sooo easy to remember the dialogue and quote so much of the movie. :)

The kids i babysit for told me about the movie, (they are from utah/out west) and they didnt get it, but i laughed so much when i saw it, and i've seen it like 6 times at least. I always laugh when i see it, it's absurd.

BTW, i thought the Royal Tenenbaums was a GREAT and funny movie as well. (then again, i laughed in Punch Drunk Love, but that was because of who i saw the movie with.)

False. Life Aquatic wasn't all that good, but the first two are ****ing genius, and it aint a bandwagon I'm jumping on since most people are like you and "don't get them."

There are funny movies that have jokes, funny dialogue and punchlines, and then there are funny movies that dont have those things, and are just funny.

The Royal Tenenbaums, and Napoleon Dynamite or funny w/out having jokes and punchlines, they are just comical in a different way.

I think people expect funny to be jokes and punchlines, and when its not, they cantsee why others think it's funny. :)

Whoa, whoa, hang on a sec, dry British humour is great! The Life Aquatic is terrible, its not comparable to proper British humour in the slightest. :hmm:
