Would you have it any other way? I made it to Palo Alto in once peace which was great...the last 30 minutes or so got a bit hairy. I had some interesting experiences in route...I shall expand on them when I have the time... late start Industrial fire reset phone almost pulled over scammed at the gas station Good times. We're about to go hit up somew brunch and then see where our day takes us. It was nice to see Ira, much needed, and Carolyn, a friend of his is staying with him as well, so nice to see her also. Mike is going to come over in a bit, im happy I am going to be able to see him before he leaves for DC... Manu 11-14-2005, 08:17 PM Tease no more! Here it is, my large update on the last week... Monday was a crazy long day at work. We were setting up VoIP infrastructure for a property downtown, Avidan and I ended up working until 12:30 or so. We did good work though. It took longer than we thought, but ultimately it wasn't a long setup at all, so that was good. Tuesday was my early day, so Avidan said I could leave 'early' which basically means on time. I ended up staying until 6:30 or so, finishing up some work, and then went to the apple store to drop off Avi's iMac, which was having issues. What I thought would be 10-20 minutes turned into an almost 2 hour ordeal, but I got dinner, nerd talk, a woman's number, and my apple fufillment. The mac was basically proper ****ed, but the guy kept on wanting to do more tests on it, so I humored him and chatted with him about apples, technology, treo vs. blackberry. I then chimed in when the 'genius' next to me couldn't fix a woman's problem. (he has been working on it for like 40 minutes and was stuck) I was able to fix it in about 5, it was hilarious. I used the corniest/nerdiest line ever "bet you an ipod its a version issue." and it was, hizzah. Alice and I talked for 5-10, and then I was on my way out, I asked her for her number and if she wanted to get coffee or a drink sometime. Score. I got home, caught the Lakers game, and crashed, good times. Wednesday was Angela's birthday party. She's a coworker of mine, turning 22. It was nice going out with coworkers again, its amazing how you see these people day in and day out, yet, there is such a different environment when you're 'out and about.' It was good. I had an amazing time. I was talking politics, traveling, relationships, love, all with various people, while having a fun time and just being silly. I just felt very much 'on top of myself' and really comfortable, it was a feeling I used to be accustomed to, but had not felt in a long time. I got home way late, like 1:30-2, and then stayed up even later to watch lost, I passed out and came into the office at 8:30, it was a rough Thursday. Thursday night, I got home from work around 8:30, Avidan and I tried to finish up some loose ends before heading out. We were working late finishing up some presentations for VoIP training the following day. The presentation turned out great. That night, I hung out with Jody and Becky and we got coffee, and talked, and had a dance party. Good times. Friday, I got into the office, gave the presentation and then bided my time until it was time to leave for SF. As I was out the door, literally, someone came in with a problem. I helped her as quickly as possible and then got on the road, to my parents house to get a bite to eat and then to SF.... Manu 11-14-2005, 08:35 PM The SF trip was great. The drive up there had its moments. There was billowing flames off the side of the freeway, my phone resetting itself, losing all memory (thusly Ira's number and directions to his house), almost getting pulled over, and getting scammed as a gas station. All in all, I still made it up to SF in about 5ish, 5.5 hours (and really Palo Alto) but I was impressed none the less. We hung out a tad once I got there and then we all crashed... Saturday was an amazing day. The weather was gorgeous for starters. Ira, Carolyn, Mike and I went out for brunch at hobee's, this cool little place in Palo Alto. We then went back to Ira's, hung out a bit, figured out what to do and headed into the city. We basically spent the day gorging ourselves, walking around, and hanging out. We really crammed in a ton into the day, we went to haight, his sisters place, clament (sp) street. We went looking for Chinese food, but were intrigued by "Pizza Orgasmica" which had a ridiculous tagline and branding, but ****ing good eats. We ate and drank and it was a pretty orgasmica experience. We then hit up Ghiradelli (sp) squre and got dessert. We went back to jackie's place and then took the muni to the Boom Boom Room, which is John Lee Hooker's blues club. The muni ride was awesome, with some way drunk frat guys chatting nonsensical garbage the whole way and the bus driver 'stopping short' on them when they were getting out. We got to the boom boom room and were pleasantly suprised. It has an awesome atmosphere, vibe, and cool. Drinks were decent also, at 3 for 16 bucks. We saw the Monophonics and Papamali, both of which were good. The first were a funk/jazz band, while the second was total guitar blues. We had an awesome time listening to the music, drinking, dancing, and just being ridiculous. We took the muni back to Ira's car, head back to Palo Alto, and then crashed. Sunday morning we lounged and then went to menlo park for breakfast. We ate at this place called Stacks, which had just totally amazing food. Im sure it helped that we waited an hour for it. But, the food was great and the street we were on in Santa Cruz was awesome. Reminded me a lot of Main St. Santa Monica, but more posh, less indy, but same feeling. I loved it. We finished up, hung out, and then I went home, on a mostly uneventful drive. I stopped off in Pismo, to watch the sunset, as it was perhaps one of the most beautiful ones I've ever seen. The water was perfectly blue, and then amazingly orange. I want to share this imagine I have burned into my mind with you...but I can't. The only one that really rivals is is when jody and I were at the beach and we were watching the sunset and the clouds had made a giant heart in the sky. But, that was less the sunset and more the moment... I stopped by Tasha's on the way home and we had nice cuddle, cookies, and spa time. It was nice seeing her, she's awesome but way too busy. She is like this real person, which is awesome, since that is usually missing from people's lives...she's a good cap to an excellent weekend. I came back from SF refreshed, looking forward to being back in LA, but with an eye up north, I totally could live in SF, and want to at least go back for a lot more time up in SF. Do some more touristy things, see some other friends I have there, party it up more. maybe I'll go for an extended weekend, but get a hotel in the city, that'd be awesome. All in all, it was an amazing weekend, it was nice to be able to see Mike off to DC, to meet Ira's roommates and see his digs, and get out of LA. I saw a good friend write this the other day, and I just want to echo it "Life, I love you." eeper69 11-14-2005, 10:46 PM Manu, glad to see you are enjoying life as much as I am now.
