They should come to my house & play for free. If I'm impressed I will actually shell out for a CD instead of downloading it online.

Fitty dolla or so. Maybe eighty. I think the richer/more famous the artist is, the cheaper the gig should be. :P

$20-$30 and only at small venues where you can see the action up close. Most I have paid is $30 for the Larry Coryell Trio, but that was a fundraiser kind of thing for a library. It averages out to $15 since I saw him perform solo at a different library for free about 10 years ago I think.

:werd: Small venues are always better. I'm not a huge fan of big stadium shows, though I would shell out for a festival, as that's a whole different vibe altogether.

I'm a music nut - so I'm a bit weird.

If it were one of my favorites (Live, Widespread Panic, or Duran Duran) ..depending on the venue, $1000? If the venue was sick enough, I would. :nice:

I payed $150 per seat for 10th row to see Duran Duran back in '89. :D I had to pay for half of my Mom's for her to bring me. :p

my dad's a ticket broker.....so I've always gotten the best seats in the house for free. :hmm:

 You suck.

If I was rich, I'd pay as much as I could without it affecting my living to see some people. The most I've ever paid, though, was fifty dollars to see Kelly Clarkson. :D

Well, the most I ever paid was a month ago when I went to see Paul McCartney in Washington DC, and I pad $180 for the ticket plus another $100 to make the trip there. It was definately worth it though, since it was THE BEST concert I've ever seen in my life BY FAR...and I've seen definately way more than my share of some of the greatest musicians in concerts too. It was a 100% amazing concert by all means.

Some of the other expensive concerts I've been to:

Bob Dylan, $60, very small venue of about 500 people, which he rarely does these days. I was close to the stage and it was a great show, besides the fact that he did not play his guitar, and stayed behind the keyboards for the most part.

B.B. King, $60, same place too. I was standing right next to the stage. I did see him later that year as well (2 months ago) for $45 on his last concert of the 80th birthday tour with Joe Bonamassa and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, which was amazing as well.

Koko Taylor, $50, in Los Angeles, the day before I've played at the Roxy, definately a great show, and I did end up singing with the blues legend on the last song too!! :D

I paid over a hundred bucks I think for David Bowie. The show was so awesome I dont regret paying whatever I paid - it was so good I dont even remember what I paid :P

Ive paid over $150 for Festival type shows - but thats plenty of big name bands etc.

WHAT!! I don't think I'd go see them even if somebody paid me that money, unless of course they would let me get on stage with them and show 'em how it's really done ;)

But no, seriously, that's like one of the worst and most overrated bands in history ever!!

:eek3: Ganja, you know I love you but - you are SO wrong !!!!! You and I can go see them together someday so I can show you what a show they put on. Your face hurts from smiling so much, I promise!!! :D

I also just paid about 180 a piece for McCartney tix in NYC for my Mom , but then my grandmother died so we didn't go :( We sent them to a buddy of ours who is around my Mom's age and loves them and had never been. :nice:

I don't know...I don't care for most of Styx songwriting (besides a few very good songs) and I find their singing to be horrible...yet I saw them live and I can say that they put on a great show and I enjoyed it very much. However, they can play instruments very well. Duran Duran, from all of what I've heard, can hardly play their instruments, much less sing, and their songs generally suck in my opinion. Maybe they are better live, however I wouldn't have my hopes up.

:( This is so sad.

However, if you get the chance, go see him, it really doesn't matter how much $ it is...even $500 would worth it!! I'm serious, that was THE BEST show I've ever seen in my life, 100% perfect as it could possibly be. And I've seen GREAT shows and GREAT artists of all kinds of music.

Most groups I listen to are independent. Thus, they gravitate toward smaller venues. So, $20 + ticket fees is my average. The biggest band (popularity wise) I have seen recently was modest mouse. I paid all of $20 + $10 in ticketmaster fees.

I would consider spending more for festivals but not for stadiums. Most of my stadium visits have been unexciting.

Just remembered one.
My wife and I paid $60 a seat for a Dave Matthews concert at the Gorge at George in WA state in the late 90s. Good concert.

I missed 2 chances to see Dave.. Bonnaroo this year during our Honeymoon. I got sun poisoning the first day and due to some extreme partying, crashed out in the van. :p I did hear him playing Crash and Tripping Billies though when I'd wake up and roll over.
Then recently in Vegas we were there to see Phil Lesh, and Dave was the headliner the first night. After Phil, we ran over to see Primus and left before Dave even started
Its kinda weird for him to be in a Jamband scene.

$0.00

Concerts Suck.

The only way I would spend more than $0.00 is if it's worth was over $100.00 and I knew I could sell it to Kymra for $300.00 *scalps*

Most I'd ever pay is pry around 50$, for a select few bands (who'd never be that expensive anyway) and a few venues (ala warped tour, which me and my friends go to most summers). But typically I probably pay about 15-16 a show. Any Tortoise or Isis fans here? I saw them saturday. Amazing show, Tortoise is better live then on album... Although I love there albums. *insert general album pitch on behalf of semi-popular amazing group that not enough people know about regarding Tortoise*.

I'd probably pay up to $500 to see RATM, Smashing Pumpkins or At the drive-in. Only those three though.
