Wow, Chris Matthews is a great interviewer, and once again that's not just because I like his politics. He asked Mehlmen whether or not it was right to have a public discussion over the bad intel about the WMDs, and Mehlmen fell right back on the typical GOP talking points. He pointed out that everyone thought they had WMDs, and Matthews kindly and repeatedly reminded him that whether or not there was agreeance, the intel was wrong. Just because everyone moved together on it doesn't excuse the bad intel. Then, Mehlmen started going off on the favorite rant about how there were many reasons we went to Iraq, WMDs were not the only reason, and how we're safer now than if we had waited until "Saddam refilled the canisters" basically, to me, admitting that there aren't any WMDs, and none are ever going to be found.
When in doubt, scare the public and remind them of 9/11!
