some of the features look really cool.. especially the locked alliances... that should be great fun... some of the graphics look kinda crappy... :hmm: but it still looks like a hell of a game... They better bring back the Carthaginians though... why did they get rid of them in the first place?? they were my number one ally along with the Egyptians...

I pre-ordered Civ IV and it's STILL not here yet ...

I don't think I can make it thru the weekend without it ...

I'm disappointed with Civ IV.

It feels and plays like a heavily modded version of Civ III. I feel llike I spent 50$ on a mod.

I think I'll stick with Civ III.

I agree... I gave it a chance, but for some reason it just seems incredibly boring this time around. It tells you the best thing to do... taking all thought process out of the game. Religions could have been a good addition, but they had to go and make them all do the same thing.... to be politically correct. So now it's just pointless.

I thought I would love this game, but instead I fell in love with Age of Empires III, that game is a lot of fun. I'm not usually big on RTS genre games, but it was done extremely well IMO.

I am hooked. No more stupid AI. No more Conquests armies. No more spearmen manhandling tanks. I love the AI diplomacy. Although it seems that the AI still doesn't have a grasp of where to place cities. It placed a city one space from the coast. But I have only played one game. So far, so good...

i bought it and couldn't play because i needed more ram. it's been sitting here on my desk waiting to be played into oblivion.

i've got it... played it... it was allright...
if you hit ~ in game and bring up the dialog... type in game.toggledebugmode
and hit enter... then
you can ctrl+T and it brings up a cheat screen...
hover over a city hit + and it finishes whatever it was working on
diff combinations of ctrl + or shift + do diff. things, as in increase their population or increase their influence.. larger borders...

i think ctrl shift and left click on the mouse lets u instantly create a new city
anywhere or anything that the game can create in the list that pops up; wherever you left clicked at... beware if you're in another territory it gives them the item..

I'm sure there's a more comprehensive cheat index somewhere... but I never saw the ctrl shift and left click.. .just kinda found that one myself...

i'm actually a bit disappointed with the game. some of the really great aspects of the game have been replaced with things that i don't find very useful. i loved that the pyramids gave granaries (sp?) in each city, but that's been changed. i also don't find much of a difference with the religion option. :confused:

the "3d", i think, is giving me seizures. perhaps i'm a dork, but i don't really like the change in the map.

oh! one of the things i was really happy with is that i haven't yet experience da riot in any of my cities. :hmm:

by the way, i seemed to have scored just over 16,000 on my second game. |I i don't know if that is good or not, but i quite like that number; seems big enough. |I : D

My biggest problem with CIV4 is that I don't like it and I'm not sure why.
