Today is Yom Kippur. Now, I am neither religious nor observant. So why am I observing a religious holiday?
No, seriously, I'm asking. I don't have a ****ing clue. The nearest answer I can get it "because my mother would put me on a guilt trip if I didn't." Those of you with Jewish Mothers know what hell that can be.
But it's strange. This is the second day in as many weeks that I've missed because of a Jewish holiday. And both of these days I have felt the same thing.
I would rather be at work.

I have to wonder if this is why traffic this morning was literally about 35 MPH faster than usual.
Men are what their mothers make them.
I saw this on a bumper sticker.
What the hell is Yom Kippur.

What the hell is Yom Kippur.
The Jewish "day of atonement." It's where every Jew is supposed to be sorry and repentant for not being perfect.
You can imagine how I feel about a day like this. :|

I'm back in L.A. I couldn't bring myself to go back to Carnegie Mellon. My bull**** threshold was passed by such a great measure that the guage broke and the needle went flying off into space. I got sick of almost everybody there, and when the FACULTY had the audacity to flat out lie to the students, I just gave my final up-yours to the university and haven't looked back.
