My job is so easy. :D
NJ Refugee 10-10-2005, 01:43 PM I thought the N.O.P.D. already had squads of officers looting the city ...
I mean patroling for looters.
Java_man 10-10-2005, 02:35 PM watch out for sales of "slighty water stained" merchandise on E-bay :|
Snouter 10-10-2005, 02:44 PM The liberal radicals at CNN were doing their best to incite Black riots by showing video of a drunk black male resisting arrest and getting roughed up by some NO cops who were actually doing their job.
86Dude 10-10-2005, 06:15 PM I wonder if the citizens of NO get their guns back now after they were unlawfully taken away?
jimmyjude 10-10-2005, 06:27 PM I watched this video and I honestly don't see what the cops did wrong and why there is such condemnation of them..
Granted I "knee-jerk" support the police.
But, as an aficionado of "Cops" the television show, my favorite is "Cops: New Orleans" and "Cops: Mardi Gras". In all of the NO episodes of Cops there were very similar fights going on between police and people on the streets.
I know that the left love to attack the cops, but I honestly don't see where they went wrong here.
86Dude 10-10-2005, 08:46 PM You've obviously never spent any time in New Orleans.

I have ! And it was terrible ! I have to say the NO cops warned me not to come there to look for SOS . I was very young and exspecting so I rode 1000 miles on bus to find SOS and almost got killed in french quarters . First time i was there was in 50s [ visiting aunt who hubby was in army there] when I was a kid, got jumped on by very large french girl who smothered me .

Four cops were beating on a 65 year old, and atacked a TV producer who was a witness. 'Nuff said.

Aww come on! I like you OK by you're not being rational. Even drunk old fools lose their inhibitions with too much hooch in their system. Let's just beat his old drunk ass for resisting the fuzz, stupid old bastard, maybe put a blood clot on his brain or break one of his hips. That'll teach him, oh wait he's in a coma or dead, no lesson to be learned. Is this sinking in?

Glad to read it. You were worrying me.
jimmyjude 10-11-2005, 12:38 AM You've obviously never spent any time in New Orleans.
I spent two weeks there two years ago.
Are you some sort of expert on NO?
And if so, why wouldn't you just tell me why you think you can be so dismissive?
Or is it that that is the extent of your intellect?

Let the record show that Jimmy spent not 1 but TWOOOO whole weeks on Bourbon Street.
It's nice to see that you're playing a bit nicer now Jimbo. Keep it up and maybe we won't mistake you for a troll.

So in your lexicon a conservative is lower than a troll?
I am not sure what implications the word troll has on the internet because I am a bit of neophyte.
But let the record show that with just over 100 posts you have labeled me in various ways, with the sole intention, I think, of simply dismissing me.
Keep on with that open mind thing pal.
John R. Sellers 10-11-2005, 01:11 AM It's interesting to me that (at least on TV) no one really gave a damn about Biloxi.

Well you see Jim you kind of got off to a bad start by flaming me numerous times so don't sugar coat it and play innocent. I'm very, very forgiving but I do not forget:
Hey, don't get out of your pram, mommy doesn't want you to lose the teething ring you vile prick.
Shall I post more, or do you have time to click for awhile?
The really laughable part neophyte is that you were flaming me because you actually thought I was a liberal! LOL, I wish I could see a show of DA hands who would actually say that 86Dude is a liberal, ROFLMAO. If you want respect first and foremost you don't need to come in here and start flaming about willy nilly, and if you can accept this constructive criticism without flaming back then you will earn the respect of this board whether we agree with you or not. Nuff said, I'll back off.

I said that you were a vile prick because you were being the same kind of prig that you are now.
I don't really care if you are liberal or martian.
I don't think that I am going to change anyones political views, and if I were to think that I wouldn't go insulting someone by calling them a vile prick.
I got in trouble for that, calling you a vile prick.
And in hindsight I was wrong.
but it had nothing to do with any of your political leanings.
And really you are being childish insulting me at every turn.
NO is a ****hole.
I have nothing but respect for Officers (my dad is retired State Police) but I have little to no respect for NOPD (long story). I too am a city civil service employee... not proudly so either :(
Also note that not all of the officers in the video are NOPD.

Just in case you're wondering Jim, I didn't turn you in for name calling because there is nothing worse than a squealer. Screw it, Let's just forget all this crap because I'm over it and gets us nowhere. Peace.

Indeed. State Police tend to be a-holes, but professional a-holes who haven't got time for B.S. because they've heard it all before. But NOPD, dear God, those fellas are the definition of corrupt.

Police lawyer: Video does not tell whole tale
10/12/2005, 5:56 p.m. CT
By ROSS SNEYD
The Associated Press
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A police union official and a lawyer for officers accused in the beating of a retired teacher on Wednesday sharply disputed the man's contention he was brutalized during his arrest, which was captured on video.
Attorney Frank DeSalvo said the video shows a truncated version of the Saturday night arrest and he disputed details the video shot by Associated Press Television News appears to have captured, including whether the 64-year-old suspect was punched in the face.
"I see an incident of a man trying to be brought under control who doesn't want to be brought under control," DeSalvo said.
