Let's allow "s**t"
It's not really that bad of a word.

If I only used this site from home, I would say OK. But if I got caught looking at a page with that word on it at work, I would be written up to say the least. I'm all for making the filters as strict as possible, to keep me out of trouble. Sorry.

Did you receive a warning for that post? ^
I'm curious 'cause I just received a warning for censoring a word in a similar fashion.
Apparently it's against the rules.
Allthough, I think it's considered a minor infraction 'cause it is rarely enforced.

I think all slurs should be treated/filtered in the same way, yet the n-word is the only one that is starred-out.

I think Queeb should be added, as well as every other slur listed on The Racial Slur Database (http://www.rsdb.net/)

No, it's one of the major banks. Gotta be as bland as possible.

I think there should be a user setting, so that people can choose whether or not they have a filter...like the ignore list

Sounds like a good idea but it would be extremely hard to impliment. Currently the swear filter works by actually replacing the offending pattern of letters with "*" without keeping any backup data as to what was actually typed. If we were to impliment something like that we would use up more space for every post in addition to the server having to scan and alter every post in every thread every time it's opened depending on the user's preferance. That would tax the server and probably slow this puppy down noticably.
