Here's one more setback the boys in Creed will have to weather: The multiplatinum rock group has canceled the rest of its North American tour after singer Scott Stapp was injured in a car crash.
Few details were revealed about the incident, or the extent of Stapp's injuries. According to a spokesman for the band's label, the accident occurred in Orlando when Stapp's car collided with another vehicle going 60 mph.
"He has been advised by medical professionals to make this regrettable, but necessary decision as he recuperates," reads a statement on the band's Website.
As a result, the rockers have canceled the remaining 20 dates that were scheduled to begin Monday in Fargo, North Dakota, and run through May 31 in Selma, Texas. No make-up shows have been announced, but according to its Website, the band hopes to return to the road mid-summer.
Creed spokesman Steve Karas told the Associated Press: "We don't want people to believe that this is a situation where Scott will not recover."
Stapp, 28, and his bandmates have been on the road in support of their multiplatinum-selling disc Weathered, which debuted atop the charts last November
