Guitar Center may get their lawyers writing letters soon, but apparently in July, every Wednesday is Guitar Combat night. I don't know the details of the format yet. In August is a bass competition, September is a keyboard competition and October is a drum competition and the winners allegedly become The Official Boxcar Band.

Wowsa, what a flop. :mad: I brought my Variax and the PODxt Live down to the Boxcar and there were only about 3 people hanging out and a bassist and drummer were setting up. I asked the bassist what the story was and he said it is basically an open mic night since there isn't really any organization regrading the competition, although if a lot of guitarists showed up they would accomodate them. So rather than sitting through their hour of playing, which hadn't even begun, I figured I would come back to play just their usual blues open mic night they have early each week.

It was actually a band that was setting up. I didn't see their guitarist, but I saw the Roland guitar synth foot pedal setup and it was on. I just didn't feel like sitting through their set before jamming for a song or two with them. Hopefully, next time I will have one of my brothers there to record some video footage.
