What tv advertisements can you simply NOT stand? Thankfully the trashy stuff I was subjected to in my years in italy has been erased from my memory... but here are some from Canadian TV:

1) McDonalds... I simply can't take any ad done by them and I cringe everytime I hear "I'm lovin' it" (I've ben boycotting McDonalds for seven years now and wish others would too) :P

Alright the rest of these aren't in order...

Ikea: the guy with the Swedish accent really gets to me for some reason... I don't know I just find his voice utterly annoying

Idomo: Another voice I simply can't stand... it's just torture to the ears

Canadian Tire: This is a case of using the same person over and over and over again... and it's gotten to the point that I'm sick of hearing him act like a genuine smart ass know it all

Mazda: Yes that dispicable kid who says "zoom zoom"... he definetely needs to get off of cable tv

Now for some GOOD ads!

Mars Bar ad: the one where a guy is walking down the street and everything is powered by the Mars bar... good music, no stupid jingle and a smart ad imho

Toronto Zoo: Two versions... the first one is a bunch of fake nature documentaries with model animals... smart concept :D and the other is a radio commercial where a person sings a parody of the rubber ducky song... I like that :D

Molson Canadian Ads: The I AM CANADIAN ads rock, pure and simple

Stupid Ads (Anti Smoking): a bunch of skits of people doing stupid things like wearing moose antlers in the forest, or standing right next to a lightning rod...

Nike: they made some really good soccer ads with soccer stars and monsters... they're fun to watch unlike most mundane ads...

Two honourable mentions:

Marineland Ads: they've kept the identical song for like 15 years now.. well practically identical... that takes guts! and my ex was in one of them lol

ING Direct ads: my dad loathes this commercial because he can't stand the guy with the Dutch accent so whenever I want to be cruel I subject him to ING guy :D

I like that recent one for Starbucks in a can that uses that Gary Glitter song. Quite a creative use of the name "Hank."

Something about those stupid "I love you, man" Bud Light commercials has always stuck with me.

OTOH, my least favorite series of commercials of all time would have to be those "Dude, it's a Dell" ones. Thank god they stopped them.

Two that I love are the NEW Sonic ones, with the couples in the car (didn't really care for the ones with the two guys). These new ones are quite funny.

Also, the DQ bee commercial where the guy learns to speak bee. That one cracks me up!

Has anybody seen the commercial for the utility knife where the guy asks his helper if he'd like to take a break while he changes the blade... so the guy hurries and guzzles coffee and stuffs about 8 mini donuts in his mouth really quick... the whole point of the commercial is to demonstrate how quick and easy it is to change the blade, but I love that commercial every time I see it...

Also, I love the commercial where those hunters are throwing Snickers bars at the deer. Anybody seen that one?

How can you go wrong with the relatiively new Ciabatta commercial. The Spelling Bee is the buildup but Jack's son is hilarious.
But the most recognizable is the old Jack Stephen commercials. I don't know if that was only in L.A., but it is over 10 years old and people still remember that guy. What good advertising can do.

Too many dumb commercials to pick just one.

But good ones?

I like the one where the man is being spoon fed by a French Maid and he then takes her in his arms and the woman looks shocked and says "Oh Miseur..." and then the next voice is "my parents are so wierd" and you see the two teenage girls watching them. The French Maid (no longer with the same accent) says "..your home early."

You have to love that IKEA radio ad, though! :D

"Thankfully, I can change mah voice" and then he does that awesome Jamaican accent! :D :D :D

Best and worst commercial is that Pop Tarts one where the hip hop kids are all standing around the ricer with the Pop Tart bouncing on the seat. That "BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM" guy is so ridiculous, I crack up every time. :P

I've never heard of these products before

I really liked the "BRILLIANT!" guinness commercials.
I also like the "What a wonderful world" beer commercials :nice:
I LOVED the "Let's go insurance adjusters" ad from last years football season :D:D:D

I'm not a big fan of the McD's ads either. :hmm:
I also don't like the vonage ads

My eyes are weary and maybe someone has already posted these. This must be one the worst (and most idiotic) commercials on TV. Bob is living large! (That Enzyte commercial.)

http://www.enzyte.com/

And that "Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now" is terrible.

Those and the commercials where some very "normal" looking man or woman is declaring that they have herpes and now they can lead normal lives because of some medicine... I DON'T WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THEIR STD'S!!! I'm sure those people don't even have herpes, genital warts or whatever the commercials are for... it's an INVASION OF MY PRIVACY! Nasty people!

The best one I saw was a few years ago. I think it was for a car (don't remember, though). It was the one with the Barbie/Ken/other guy dolls with the Van Halen song ("You Really Got Me"?) in the background.

I hate those adverts where someone pretends to go around the streets asking random people what they think about something, like the Campino adverts from ages ago. "Mmm, really creamy!"

I have to admit I do quite like the Strongbow advert though, where some comedians go around asking people what they think of the flavour of Strongbow (a beer) (although its obviously set up):

"Be as flowery and poetic and pretentious as you like."

"........... yeah, its nice."

:D

My favourite advert has to be the Revels one though. "But, but I like orange..." :D :D I even bought some purely on the strength of the advert, it was that good.

I also like the Red Stripe beer commercials. HOORAY BEER!

One commercial I loved that I don’t see anymore was a Starburst commercial where there was three or four people walking down the road with whistling in the background. :nice:

I saw one yesterday that made me laugh for like 5 minutes straight. Normally I find the Geico commercials kinda silly but I saw their speedracer commercial and it was great :D :D

Though I think one of the best commercials I’ve ever seen was during the superbowl right after 9/11. It was a Budweiser commercial I believe but it was the one with the Clydesdale horses bowing to the NY skyline where the towers used to be. It was very touching.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the recent Fanta campaign. Our little taste of Brazillian TV! "Wanna Fanta, doncha wanna, wanna Fanta!"

Or the Pepto Bismol one where they do the song and dance about various digestive ailments. Disgusting.

well there's this really annoying ads from the irish government about not paying your tv license. the ads like to portray not paying the tv license as something evil, as something that means your not worthing of living with people who pay tv license

one of the ads is two people, a man and a woman, on the couch and the man decides to come clean that he was in court recently. the woman storms out when she hears he didn't pay his tv license so another message in one of the ads is if you don't have tv license, you won't get loving

they are just really terrible and worst of all, they are shown at normal times (not daytime)
