Meet the world's first plucky single-mom peguin:

CHICAGO (AFP) - Abandoned by her mate, attacked by the other females in her colony for trying to steal their spouses, Zurita is a penguin who should have been doomed to fail.

Instead, the plucky little bird has done what no other penguin has done before: raised a chick all by herself.

Or maybe eeper is just saying something about motherhood and the need for a family to be a partnership between male and female ...

Or maybe I'm just talking out my @ss.

Sometimes women have testosterone....

Sometimes ?

ALL THE TIME !

Both sexes have both testoterone and estrogen ... it is the relative amounts of each that make all the difference in the world.

Strangely, Men with ballz have been doing 'just about anything' for so d@mn long that people have taken it for granted that men have them. Guys don't feel the need to 'prove' they can do it.

They can't have babies...

Neither can women ... not without a man's help they can't.

Your penguin story proved that.

Maybe eeper69 can. Many species reproduce asexually.

Agreed.

I'm also inclined to believe Erhnam is an expert in the field of asexual reproduction,

While both a male and a female gamete are needed in human reproduction to create an zygote, a man is still much less successful than a woman in bringing that zygote to full term and giving birth to a baby.

That penguin was a slut. They should change her name to Mrs. Robinson.

JK JK but really- imagine the drama if this was the story of a human woman. The support would prob be a lot less vocal

True. But, from another pointof view, the man is done with his part of baby-making in just a few minutes; while a woman takes nine months (or so). Simply put, the man is vastly more efficient at the task.

And yes, I do enjoy being a pain in the butt. *snicker*
