View Full Version : Calling All FUTURE Time Travellers: HELP us, please!
BadNews88 06-27-2005, 06:55 PM That is what THIS particular scholar is prevailing upon you out there (Link Courtesy USA Today) (http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2005-05-07-time-party_x.htm)
Well, THAT'S all very well and good....BUT, I daresay that IF such a technology DOES/WILL exist....such a "rescue" WOULD have transpired by now! :hmm:
Of course IF they are still out there...and still coming.....make a pit stop over by MY neck of the woods, and tell me WHAT date the POWERBALL shall hit, say, $200 or so...and what said winning numbers shall be.. :D
In the meantime, I'll be setting up parking space for a big blue BRITISH POLICE CALL BOX! :D
SecretSamadhi 06-28-2005, 11:17 AM hey - I'm in NH and I love time travel - maybe I'll go!
verseau_miracle 07-01-2005, 02:19 PM It truly mystifies me how anyone in their right mind can honestly believe we will one day be able to travel through time...in a machine! Time is an abstarct concept...its complex, a different level of consciousness...how the hell would a machine get us through it? Surely the ability to travel through time, onto a different level of consciousness, will be found, if it ever is, within ourselves?
Its just typical that people assume their great inventions will get us there.
I will try, however, to keep an open mind...and will also be lookin out for that polic box.
Peace-

Quite simple, actually. Not in the "back to the future" sense, though. One could theoretically slow time down for themsleves, arguably hurling themselves into the future.
verseau_miracle 07-01-2005, 06:00 PM I dont see how we can slow time down with a machine, when time actually doesnt exist. Its all happening at once, its just that because were within time, making a journey through it, we sense it as three separate parts-past present and future. Thats what ive always thought anyway...maybe am wrong:P

The machine doesn't slow down time. Time slows down for the machine.
verseau_miracle 07-02-2005, 06:18 AM Aha, now that i understand.
