To get a story so she can be paid thousands of bucks to appear on television and get a book deal and movie rights and more dollars......

Or am I being cynical?

I'll be sure to MISS that show.
I still can't figure out why anyone even cares about this woman.

Because they have been told to.

I can understand her getting cold feet or not wanting to deal with the pressures of a big time wedding within a more social family. BUT...what I don't understand is her fabricating a stupid story and scaring her folks like that. I can't imagine someone doing that to their parents. However, maybe she didn't think all of that through before doing what she did. I don't think she's a bad person....just kinda stupid.

Considering the area where she lived...her story isn't that sensational in the south. I don't know how other people are perceiving it.

If no one was interested...it wouldn't be a news story. The news doesn't dictate what we respond to....the news plays on what they HOPE viewers respond to. Since this became a thread....and people posted...obviously they are correct in their guess of things.
