View Full Version : WTF?! Firefox just wiped out all my favorites and extensions!

wtf? out of nowhere it asks for a profile or some ****... wouldn't let me run FF till i set it up... now everything is gone! :mad:

Red, you just have to get back to your original profile and all your info should still be there.

That happened to me last week at work....favorites all gon and could not add more. (Windows XP)

Yeah, its probably been explained on the links provided.

Basically, you ran more than one instance of Firefox at the same time, so it asks for another user profile for the other Firefox. You should have just clicked cancel. It uses a new profile, which has no bookmarks or extensions. You just have to get back to your old profile by either somehow deleting the new profile, or changing the profile folder or something in your FF folder.

WinXP:
Start -> Run -> firefox.exe -profilemanager

Linux:

firefox -profilemanager (assuming the directory containing firefox is in your path)


This should show you all the firefox profiles you've got and allow you to pick which one you're going to use.

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p fixed it.
