View Full Version : Selling the Mustang and buying a .....
ReidStylez 04-27-2002, 10:41 PM Trans Am....
Yeah it's a sad day. I've decided to buy a friends '96 Ram Air T/A with T-Tops and all. This is the day I thought would never come.

Serendipity 04-28-2002, 12:10 AM  trader!
Wedge 04-28-2002, 12:13 AM i say we start a patition to ban ReidStylez from da.com
:p
actually i like trans ams.. if i wouldn't get kicked out for being a trader.. i might get one.. :) i rode in one.. they are hella fast
ReidStylez 04-28-2002, 04:14 AM I have a '93 Mustang LX 5.0
Robin ® 04-28-2002, 08:25 AM Sorry to hear about the decision to let the 'stang go. Sure do hate to lose a 'stang driver, especially to the dark side!
Good luck with the T/A.
eh, there's plenty of mustang drivers left, and T/A's for that matter... whats it matter, as long as you're having fun!
Outlaw5.0 04-28-2002, 12:48 PM I was thinking of selling my Stang for a 99 ram air a while back but decided i was still having too much fum with mine.
Good Luck
RedLine99 04-28-2002, 01:08 PM The T/A's are one of the few cars on the road that always catch my eye.......yeah, lets ban him:D
GroverDill 04-28-2002, 01:12 PM Didnt you just get the 93 like a year ago?

whats it matter, as long as the kids enjoying himself, eh?
buggy 04-28-2002, 03:16 PM Sweet! I really, really, really, really want a 35th Anniv. Trans Am!
Too bad the 82 Capri I have my eye on is cheaper...
Cristina-
I too wanted a T/A, as did the wife... we then decided we need a reliable vehicle, not a rattle trap that goes 13 in the 1/4
I can say this. My wife's best friend had several Pontiac's and she had trouble with all of them. I can list alot of the problems if needed. :)
buggy 04-28-2002, 06:07 PM Yeah, the rattle part sucks. They did build a very sweet engine though. :)

Yeah but... im bored already
Jastang 04-28-2002, 07:00 PM Oh man, you're selling the car that I want to get next! I had an '89 notch and sold it and I've never regreted anything so much! At least you'll still have one to play in. I had to buy a truck and it's so boring!!
A trans-am wouldn't work for me. I like to tinker too much and Stangs are much more economical to do so.

jwreck 04-29-2002, 02:20 AM You call that a BAD DAY!!!?? WTF is wring with you!!?? I'd trade a 5.0 Mustang for a Ram Air T/A any day of the week, and twice on Subday. I say congratulations are in order.
Fordman50 04-30-2002, 08:43 AM T-tops are nice and TAs are faster but now you have to grow a mullet and buy about $200 worth armour all for that huge dash! You live in a mobile home now? ;)
Wedge 04-30-2002, 09:17 AM well the thing that the mustang will always have is that the transam can't compete with is..
the sound.. the sweet sound of flowmaster is better then the "log-truck" exhaust on TAs..
Dest98 04-30-2002, 09:43 AM 90% of the rattles can be attributed to two things, the t-tops and that big plastic dash pad (pastic on plastic = bad). Some SFC's will quiet things a lot if there are problems, and there are some tricks to keep the t-tops quiet, and they generally are only noisy in cold weather anyway. If you have problems with yours give me a holler and I'll fill you in. As for the dash, I would imagine pulling up the plastic mat and using some dynamat or some of that spray-on sound deadener would take care of that. I haven't had to worry about it myself as mine is pretty quiet & solid, but I had SFC's and a STB installed within 5k miles.
Get used to the Mustang crowd going on and on about mullets. Maybe it's because the back of the head is the only view they regularly get of f-body drivers. :D ;) (Yes I'm ducking now.)

Here is a pic of a typical F-bod driver (from the front) Was I telling the truth? (this is Dest98 BTW) ;)

Oh, no sir! You have not seen the light. The General, he is from the dark side. It is our duty to rid him out and to embarass him at all stop lights. Or at least get him to drive a couple miles so his wheels will fall off.
No, but seriously. There's alot of Mustang fans here because of Stangnet, but I won't turn this thread into "Why Mustangs are better".
Dest98 04-30-2002, 01:06 PM We'd better hammer down the mullet definition. My hair is actually quite longer in front than it is in the back. When I think mullet, I think Billy Ray Cyrus, Travis Tritt, etc.
Maybe its the car that does it. Here I am when I took delivery last September.

CGord 05-02-2002, 11:46 PM I considered an LS1 to replace my convert, for a little while, anyway.
There was a WS6 Formula for sale here last summer; those are super rare. I would have purchased that over a Cobra, maybe.
AZLS1 05-07-2002, 07:58 PM Welcome to the dark side!
