What's with moving the "Right Now" thread in here?

I thought the Lounge WAS for "off-topic" discussion. Now we don't get the allmighty "post count" for yapping on DA??

I don't agree with this. I think people come here to chat, making two forums for it with a VERY vague definition of their differences just makes it more complicated to use the site.

I have an Idea, how about we stop this child like behavior and stop complaining. Then they might actually revoke this whole PPP.

But really, PWing in threads that are about another topic was getting out of hand, and that won't be tolerated. This is a way so that people can still have 'BS' chat time, etc.

If you guys have a better or different solution, we can look at it...

ok, the people that I have talked to about this PPP feel like we are being put off into a corner to be delt with later. I mean sure we can post in other places blah blah blah everyone will have posts here blah blah blah ... this place just feels like we are being made outsiders. Almost like we are not wanted anywhere else on the site you know. Some of the things that we/they have to say that seem "chatty" and "post*****ish" are fun for all to read and most threads seem to get back on track anyways ... people find something interesting in someone else's post and they comment on that then they will come back later and comment on the topic again. Most topics can only go for so long until the thread should just be closed b/c "been there done that; situation handled" so people find some comment that another made and comment on that. Most people post "IN THE MOMENT" and with regards to what has stuck out in their minds about the thread and/or what the last few people have posted. This is going to be a problem no matter what guys and I do not really feel that PPP is going to solve it. I hope that we can figure something out but I no longer think that PPP is the way to do it.

Correct, however, even you fall victim to this Kraw, people find something to comment on and sometimes that is all that is said on that and sometimes it becomes a runaway thread. People are discussing things in most of the forums that are "on topic," however most posts in "The Lounge" are the ones that tend to "runaway" but in a "Lounge" atmosphere how often does a discussion stay "On Topic" for too long anyhow? There are people who "post*****" fine, deal with it, it is going to happen, just lable them a "post*****" and move on! Some discussions are almost bettered once they become "runaway posts" I can say that I have gotten the best advice and mood lifters from "runaway posts." Here ya go ... close every forum once it is "Off Topic" that seems to be the only thing to stop people from adding to "runaway posts". Or just move the posts ... or create a new thread in "The Lounge" about it, b/c most of them once the topic is changed stays on topic for a while then will change again. Had to add one last thing ... I just ran through about 5 threads in "The Lounge" and they all had "runaway posts" and they got back on topic ... none of them were off topic by the last post ... just b/c some people pic out one thing from someone's statement and it is commented on for a few posts does not mean that it is compleatly off topic ... plus who wants to start a whole new thread when you know that it is only going to take maybe 5-10 posts (depending on how many people are interested in that topic) to finish and go back on track!

I think I am done ... but I am having one of those days!

PP, its not like if you wanna just BS around, you HAVE to post in here. Its just that if threads get too polluted with runaway discussions, this is where they will be split, or in their respective forums if its a double discussion within one thread, and it can be split correctly and safely.

Just make a "runaway thread" forum -- Not a PostProstituteParadise ... that is ostracizing those of us who enjoy spending time on DA and like to look for unique or interesting things that people put in their posts that we choose to comment on. I personally think that it is cool/nice when someone finds something random that they liked about something I said enough to post on it.

Basically people come here to NOT BE LABLED but if we post here often or inadvertantly cause a post to "runaway" we are called a POSE***** and that is what some of us are annoyed with regarding this forum.

Actually, he's pretty intelligent, just needs a little life experience to kinda gel his opinions, and to switch from a more antagonistic style to a more fact based logic.... I've already seen him change a little... time will tell...
