Of course I used to watch Sesame Street & The Electric Company back in the seventies, but the very first show I remember watching was called Sunshine, kind of a hippie version of Little House on the Prairie, IIRC. Can't remember much about it at all, but then I was about three when I watched it. :hmm:

Nowadays I don't watch TV at all. Only DVD's. :nice:

I loved Gunsmoke. I used to watch it on Monday nights, and then Laugh-In. Lost in Space was my favorite, although now, I think it's totally stupid.

The first show I ever remember watching was Diver Dan (mid 60's). Anyone remember that one??? It was about a deep sea diver, and a bunch of talking fish. I think it was filmed in a fish tank with puppets and models.

Fraggle Rock, Dune(yeah a movie, I know), and David the Gnome,

Look around you.
There are many things to see,
that some would say could never be.

These things I know.
It's true and I will tell you so.
They are there to see, if you believe.
Trolls and wizards and fairy kings,
birds that talk and fish that sing.

And if your heart is true,
then you will find them too.
In every wish and dream and happy home,
you will find a kingdom of the Gnomes.

Wanderly Wagon or Bosco, both Irish childrens TV series from the 70's and early 80's.
I also have memories of American shows on TV like that series with Donny and Marie Osmond (forget what it was called), Sesame Street and of coarse The Muppet Show.

I used to watch Zoobalee Zoo when i was little, and then found it again on tv when i was in middle school at some god-awfully early time, so i'd watch it while getting ready for school.

That reminds me, Punkee Brewster, and the Sweet Pickles commercials, some sort of cards that came in a green box that was shaped like a..bus maybe?---it gets hazy.

I think i finally remembered the very earliest show i remember, Romper Room.

Off the top of my head:

Anyone remember the Thunderbirds and Stingray!!!! They were the futuristic shows with puppets/marianettes. They were really cool, but you could always see the strings.

The effects were pretty damn good for their time.

Von Apfelstrudel

I've found the little I saw of thunderbirds cool ...
Oh , and after the stuff for kids (liek the one I posted, stuff without dialogs and all...) I grew up watching japanese anime and even *shudders* Sentai (the jap original stuff is so much better than the western made counterparts, like the power rangers, which utterly lack the kitch quality of the genuine jap stuff )
this site (http://albatoraxor.online.fr/) gives a good Idea of what my televisual youth looked like .....

The first thing I remember having seen on TV wasn't a show. It was JFK's funeral.

As far as shows go, I would have to say The Ed Sullivan Show. My mother loved it, so the whole family watched faithfully every week!

This, of course, did have its advantages - I definitely remember seeing The Beatles on there, among others!!!

When I was 3 I know I watched the following:
Sesame Street
Electric Company
Days of our Lives
Dr. Who
The Tomorrow People (anyone else remember this?-kind of a British Sci-fi show)
There was another one I watched around 81 or 82 that I can't remember the name of. I think the name character's name was Rothko. I remember the characters all standing around, holding hands, chanting his name to try to contact him telepathically. I also remember Rothko teaching a kid? how to become telepathic by focusing on 1 or more white stones/eggs dropped into gorgeous blue water. There was also something to do with a maze. Does this ring a bell for anyone?

Despite living in TX I seem to love British shows!

I do indeed , I even remember the signature tune. The next phase of humanity. I only remember one of the stars Sammie Winmill who worked in a shop near where I worked - took me weeks to work out who she was!

As I recsll they lived in an underground laboratory with a computer which had ben sent there from the "Galactic federation" to provide guidance for first of the tomorrow people.

I remember Bewitched of all things. I remember thinking it would be a cartoon (from the intro) and I was rather disappointed, yet fascinated. I also recall Sesame Street, the Friendly Giant & Mr Dressup. (the letter being Canadian fare).
As an older child I recall watching CHIPS, Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, Quincy, Charlie's Angels and Donnie & Marie (hey I was 6 & didn't know any better)
