View Full Version : Why I refuse to post here for now
ResidentRice 04-25-2002, 04:13 PM This is ridiculous. Basically, you're asking all of those people who some of you don't like to post here. Thereby admitting that we're more disruptive to this board than anyone else, and with less to add overall.
I'm not saying that its a bad idea, but you're walking on eggshells. This is a great way to alienate a group of us. If you want us off the site, ban us, don't shove us in a corner and let the world forget about us.
What I'm afraid of is that you're going to start shoveling a lot of threads over into this forum, thereby just ruining whatever sense of fun this site had.
I will not post in here for at least a week, until I see that this is not some gulag-type deal.
Foul Temptress 04-25-2002, 04:15 PM RR-
Why don't you relax and give it a try? I, personally, think you alienate yourself.

ResidentRice 04-25-2002, 04:18 PM This is my deal. No more slights, no more snide comments (I don't care about the staff forum, you guys do whatever honks your horns there) and no more calling out of pw's and finger pointing, no more whatevers, and then I agree to post with the UTMOST responsibility.
Wedge 04-25-2002, 04:19 PM there is no difference between this and the other forums.. except the no post count..
but i have to agree on something rr says.. i don't want to see DA loose it's since of fun.. it shouldn't be all serious all the time.. but i will have to admit that it has gotten out of hand... i really don't care if this forum would of come or not.. but it's their board not ours.. we just give our opinions
Thereby admitting that we're more disruptive to this board than anyone else
Did I call this the 'Mike is a postwh0re and can only post in here' forum? I don't think so. I'm not pointing fingers or anything. All I am doing is offering a forum dedicated to off topic chatting. EVERYONE on here does that at times, but we just want to try to channel it so that it doesnt mess up good threads with potential. It's happened in the past that they got sidetracked and died, just because it got off topic, because people (NOT YOU!) posted random stuff in it.
Is that so hard to understand? And i'm not gonna PM you because I don't wanna spend more time debating this. If you don't like it, stay out of it. Whatever, I really don't care.
wedge, i dont wanna have it lose the sense of fun either, and an off-topic post here and there is not a problem, but you have to admit there's been threads where it just went completely wrong. And thats why we have this. And you dont have to actively post in here if you don't want, but if a thread somewhere else get sidetracked, we're gonna put the runaway posts in here anyway. Thats all
PissyPrincess 04-25-2002, 04:22 PM Stick to your guns man ... but I am going to enjoy this while it lasts
mike, fyi, i dont think your name ever came up in the staff forum... stop giving yourself so much credit ;)
And i wont be fingerpointing, because we have this now. And instead of complaining or warning, i'm just gonna move posts.
ResidentRice 04-25-2002, 04:23 PM Alright, so I've been quite PMSy lately. I am now going to take a nice, long breather from this.
Wedge 04-25-2002, 04:23 PM basically all i see is some of the members (myself included) wanting to get their post counts higher.. but if the mods make a forum and shovle all the useless posts in here.. the post*****s are forced to make better posts.. good idea? yeah if you want the quality to go up.. you going to make some people happy, and others made anyway you look at it..
it's not we go parading around saying look at my post count today.. or anything:rolleyes:
buggy 04-25-2002, 04:32 PM Well, what bugs me is run-a-way threads happen, especially in the lounge, hell they happen outside of the lounge as well, ie political forums. The description of the lounge is basically for 'whatever'.
*shrug*
Jastang 04-25-2002, 04:32 PM I really don't understand the whole idea behind "Post Whoring". Does it really exist? Is there really someone on here who gives a crap what that number next to their name is? I don't even know approximately what my post count is!
I agree that sometimes there are off-topic posts. I don't dispute that, but I am curious as to whether there is a malicious or self-serving motivation behind it.

Snouter 10-25-2008, 02:38 AM I will not post in here for at least a week
Okay, it has been a week. Where ya at. Pussy.
TeZcaTLiPoCa 10-25-2008, 02:45 AM Holy fluck, I was still in high school when this thread was started.
Necro posting for the win.
Snouter 10-25-2008, 02:57 AM Just to get ya up to speed. ResidentRice was a real funny dude who I repeated beat in chess. He did not take the repeated beatings that well so I actually let him win several games.
TeZcaTLiPoCa 10-25-2008, 02:59 AM I just beat my friend at chess who is way better than me, incidentally, and it was a much needed ego boost.
I think it's better to earn your victories. They don't mean as much when someone allows you to win!
