View Full Version : Worst Show Ever
Dreamscapist 01-24-2005, 11:07 AM My vote would be for VH-1's Strange Love, a spin-off from The Surreal Life (that's bad enough) about the budding romance between aging rapper Flava Flav and aging action star/model Brigitte Nielsen. He's small and crude, she's large and nasty. In the program, no doubt mostly fabricated, when the little gold-toothed gangsta visits her in Italy to follow up on their Surreal Life fling, she takes a break from her Italian fiance to explore their relationship's potential. From the few minutes I was able to stomach through morbid curiosity, much of the show seems to be about her her trying to polish him up so that he's more presentable to her jet-set friends, while throughout the unflinching camera reveals that the combination of two contrasting forms of ugliness results in a hyper-ugly hybrid that is NOT as entertaining as a train wreck.
What TV show would you term the worst ever?
Boxer 01-24-2005, 11:32 AM The most absurd is MTV's new Sweet Sixteen. I can't say worst because if have watched it and its entertaining, but it is bad in that you can't believe people could be so tacky.
Tomsk 01-24-2005, 12:59 PM I would say Mad About Alice. I think thats the name. It stared Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden. Oh man it was bad. It was a comedy, but NOT FUNNY IN THE SLIGHTEST!!!!! I didn't really watch it, but I saw enough. (Its a British program, so you probably haven't heard of it if your in America. You lucky gits!! ;) )
winters 01-24-2005, 10:38 PM Fox's "Whose Your Daddy?" looked pretty awful and just down right ridiculous. But i neer saw it. Next would be that Paris Hilton show. What a bad role-model.
Snouter 01-25-2005, 01:26 AM Dreamscapist, good summary. I saw a little of that. The Italians were not buying into Flavor Flav's retardation, nor did they worship it like rap fans in America do. From what I saw they basically though he was repulsive and ridiculous as any normal person should see him as. It is hard to believe Sly Stallone and former Jet defensive lineman superstar Gastineau both had the Nick Nolte lookalike at various times. I guess that is how she got her cash.

Yeah, I believe she netted $40 million in the divorce settlement from little Sly. I will say she was a stunning figure model back in the day, but there comes a time in any overdrinking, middleaged slut's life when she needs to either live at the gym or keep her clothes on.
As for the elderly rapper clown, it's just sad to see him try to dominate some beyatch who towers over him, even if she's held together with glue.
But what is most depressing of all is that VH-1 has gone the way of MTV, forgetting about music videos in favor of trashy reality programs.
I still want my MTV....its original concept, that is.
Two Way Radio 01-25-2005, 05:51 PM I enjoy Surreal Life sometimes, but Bridgette and Flava Flav were the two most annoying people that were ever on that show. I would NEVER want to watch a show about just them.
SweetSnarkster 01-26-2005, 04:13 PM Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy = sucky show
BadNews88 01-26-2005, 08:03 PM It was history over a decade ago....and mercifully short-lived....so alot of you here most likely don't remember it....
"COP ROCK"
A musical police drama (Yep, you read that RIGHT, folks) created by "N.Y.P.D. BLUE"'s own STEVEN BOCHCO.. :eek3:
How ludicrous was this tripe? Well, consider scenes where, say, in the middle of a police shootout, the bad guys and cops alike stop the firing on each other...breaking out into a "WEST SIDE STORY"-style song & dance.
Or....in the middle of a court trial, the defendent starts to sing out the reason why they are innocent....then the jury joins in the chorus, with the bailiff singing harmony vocals..
Yep, they REALLY made that a series.
Imagine my....uh.....being taken aback....when I visited England in 1993 & saw this (by then cancelled in the U.S.A. [ ABC Network ] ) on BBC-2.... :eek7:
THAT and "choice" re-runs of the old 1960's series "FAMILY AFFAIR" whilst I was in Danmark, made me ask...."THIS is NOT what I travelled over 5,000 miles to SEE or DO....IS it?!?!?"
And U.S. TV hasn't improved all that much since then..
Except maybe for the televised verite' exploits of OZZY OSBOURNE & his family.. :D
Dr_EluSivE 01-27-2005, 12:41 PM im thinking that My vote will go to Fear factor. I Cannot stand that show. A close second going to Real world/roadrules

You should be a tv critic. Very funny description.
I think it was some show - big brother where Nielsen and "Flav" were on. My god, she used to be extremely attractive. But now, she looked about ready to fall over drunk/terminally ill I don't know what. I was saddened by it really, because I always thought she was pretty. Here's a picture of her back when:

I was actually for several years.

Nudes of her back then were terribly stunning...the term "statuesque" leaps to mind, and not just for her height: every inch of her seemed to have been sculpted by an artist with a strict sense of the feminine ideal. Sad indeed has been the physical decline of this chiseled hardbody from Denmark...rapidly becoming a rum-soaked prune Danish.
Gandalf 01-29-2005, 08:52 PM Back on topic.
All Reality TV shows, especially the ones with Z-list celebraties trying to get into the media spotlight again. TV gets turned off rapidally or a DVD goes on !!!
Criminal 02-06-2005, 07:31 PM The worst show I can remember was Madam's Place which featured this puppet of an old woman. The pupeteer and voice was a man named Waylon Flanders. The only thing that made the show worth watching was that Madam had this neice who was a hot blonde with large breasts. Otherwise it sucked.
Also sucking:
Alf
America's 10 most wanted
Dog: Bounty Hunter
Willie302 02-07-2005, 05:58 PM My vote goes to Trading Spaces. I can't stand that show.
Dishonorable mention:
Full House and those Paris Hilton reality shows
CowPunk 02-08-2005, 12:47 PM Everyone knows the worst show ever was On the Rocks, the wacky maximum security federal penitentirary sitcom from 1976. (Although, come to think of it, Three's Company or The Love Boat are also usually held to be the worst shows ever).
lunar 02-08-2005, 05:21 PM That ripoff of Married with Children. I forget what it was called, but it was terrible.
Criminal 02-08-2005, 08:50 PM Everyone knows the worst show ever was On the Rocks, the wacky maximum security federal penitentirary sitcom from 1976. I loved that show. It had nothing to do with the realities of prison life but it was funny as hel.
nachocheez 02-16-2005, 05:52 PM I saw an episode of Strange Love the other day and it was like I just couldn't turn away I was so aghast.
Some of FOX's reality shows were really bad, like Paradise Hotel and the Swan...
Criminal 02-21-2005, 01:28 AM The very worst TV Show of all times
BJ AND THE BEAR (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078564/)
Yup, BJ really is appropriate cuz this series sucks the big one.
I mean, it was supposed to be a rip of of Clint Eastwood's Every Which Way But Loose, and it sucked so bad that they put these scantily clad female truckers in to liven up the plot.
Spazola 05-01-2005, 06:41 PM I think that new FOX show "stacked" is so stupid, along with "The Simple Life"
RedLine99 05-01-2005, 11:45 PM The Muppet Show :(
I watch so few programs...it would be rude of me to judge the ones other people watch. I'll agree with Fear Factor though......the stuff they've eaten in the past come to haunt me in my most drunken moments......AARRGGG!
boedicca 05-01-2005, 11:56 PM Dog: Bounty Hunter
Hey! I love this show!
CowPunk 05-02-2005, 11:24 AM "The $1.98 Beauty Show."
www.imdb.com/title/tt0076971/
Java_man 05-02-2005, 02:34 PM My Mother the Car :eek7:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058830/
Mr. Know It All 05-02-2005, 02:50 PM Galactica 1980
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080221/
CowPunk 05-02-2005, 04:20 PM Also can't forget "On the Rocks," 1976's wacky, racist maximum security federal penitentiary sit-com.
Shadoglare 09-07-2005, 09:49 PM I'd vote for "Baby Bob"
Yes, it was on primetime. For about 2-3 weeks before getting yanked off the air.
Two Way Radio 09-08-2005, 11:37 AM I second that. Baby Bob was a horrendus idea for a show
