I just read about Ashlee in us weekly. Those guys at the football game were total jerks. She said she wishes the critics will pick on someone else and i agree. Do you think MTV is gonna play the boo on her show? It's on after Newlyweds again right? I hope they let her tell her side!

How Ashlee Simpson has any celebrity is beyond me. I did see that the first episode of the new season is about her SNL scandal.

She's not really a celeb, but more of an unfortunate joke. Certain people (her family and entities at MTV) are trying to make her one, but it just isn't happening. Where I'm from, we have a saying that relates to this sort of thing. "You can't polish a turd."

She needs to just quit embarrassing herself, give up this whole celebrity idea, and just go to college and get a job like the rest of us.

I used to have no problem with her, but the last few times I've seen her sing has made me realize that she just yells a lot, really doesn't have a good voice.

Ashlee Simpson is another reason why American Idol is a giant success. The public got so sick and fu#king tired of record producers putting up no talent crap and calling it genius that finally somebody decided to actually HEAR them sing without a computer before putting them on stage.

i again cite our country's obsession with personality/celebrity. the bulk of our population is constantly looking for pretty people to tell them how to be, talk, act, look.....someone to worship. which is why they end up constantly being able to publicly speak about stuff they have no business addressing. so it stands to reason that media mongrels are in the business of supplying these people and doing so at the least expense to themselves and with promise of maximum gain. i.e., if jessica is famous, why not try to make her sister so?....she's got the same last name. and sometimes, given that there is little or no thought put into to it to begin with, the celebrity is an abject failure. but she's an investment, so they have to keep trying to make her work.

it's bad enough that people slobber after celebrities to begin with, but it's completely sad when people slobber after failed celebrities...i.e. 'those guys at the football game were total jerks'. yes mandy, if that is your real name, any guy at a football game is a total jerk, and probably a fat, failed high school athlete as well, yet still more entertaining than frog-voiced alien ashlee simpson.

It seems to me that American Idol is basically the "starmaking machinery" flaunting it's power over idiot pop consumers. It's like, watch Us take some mediocre talent off the street....We'll even let you folks at home help pick the "winner", then We'll make "pop artists" out of them with record deals, concert tours and even *retch* movies....and you WILL buy it. Aside from that, I think what the fans of the show love best is the humiliation of the worst singers, as that makes them feel just a little bit better about themselves.

Back on topic: Jessica Simpson is a dullard, although a pokable one, but a dullard whose career is a fine example of manufactured stardom. Still, I will say that I like her cover of Robbie Williams' Angels.
Ashlee Simpson is simply a shameless spinoff of her sister's career, and she possesses much less sex appeal and zero talent. The offices of her record producers should be razed by indignant music lovers.
