Quite ironicly, Calvinists tended to be very well read and educated and believed in democratic institutions. Oliver Cromwell, the Puritan dictator rose from common origins to become England's most powerful man. New England was settled by Calvinists who created the blueprint for America's democracy. dorag 12-19-2004, 06:54 PM yep. and because american revolution has to "with other revolution" [including the commie revolution]- calvinists are precursors to commies and folks like emma goldman. ;) |
