He was a psudo Commie. He was a US Marine who was sent to Russia to pose as a defector. Then he was set up by the military industrial complex to get rid of Kennedy because Kennedy was getting in the way of their plan to get the Vietnam war underway. The mafia of course was part of this too. The Mafia was still pissed at Kennedy because his brother went after Hoffa and also, he let Castro take over Cuba and all their casinos were gobbled up.

The truth is when you piss off as many people as Kennedy did you just have to go. That is why Meyer Lansky, J Edgar Hoover and the Cuban exile community decided to make the hit. See Oliver Stone's JFK.
