Most interesting. At the time of the fall of the Manchu's China was up for grabs. Every warlord took their own slice of the country for their own. It was not until Dr. Sun Yat Sen that all parties could agree to peace. Dr Sun was a very amazing person. I plan on posting something on his life soon.

I did visit the Sun Yat Sen museum in Chicago's Chinatown. I was amazed to learn that he spent a lot of time in Chicago and several other US cities before returning to China to become the nations first democratic President. Tragicly for the Chinese people, Dr. Sun died before he could complete his reforms and his successor, Gen. Chen Kai Chek was not as strong a leader. The end result was a bloody civil war and eventually the occupation of all of China by the Communists.
