Dreamscapist 12-10-2004, 04:06 PM Vintage ones run deep:
Have Gun Will Travel reads the card of a man.
A knight without armor in a savage land.
His fast gun for hire meets the calling wind.
A soldier of fotune is the man called Paladin.
Paladin, Paladin
Where do you roam?
Paladin, Paladin,
Far, far from home.
and, of course:
They're creepy and they're kooky,
Mysterious and spooky,
They're all together ooky,
The Addams Family.
Their house is a museum
Where people come to see 'em
They really are a scream
The Addams Family.
(Neat)
(Sweet)
(Petite)
So get a witches shawl on
A broomstick you can crawl on
We're gonna pay a call on
The Addams Family.

Promises something for everyone....
Or......
You take the good, you take the bad
You take them both and there you have
The facts of life, the facts of life.
Either or are great fun to sing to everyone at work & get the song stuck in their head for days. But I'm evil that way :D
Red_Thunder 12-10-2004, 07:05 PM Welcome back Kotter
Grizzly 12-10-2004, 07:53 PM Well we're movin on up,
To the east side.
To a deluxe apartment in the sky.
Movin on up,
To the east side.
We finally got a piece of the pie.
Fish don't fry in the kitchen;
Beans don't burn on the grill.
Took a whole lotta tryin',
Just to get up that hill.
Now we're up in the big leagues,
Gettin' our turn at bat.
As long as we live, it's you and me baby,
There ain't nothin wrong with that.

Since this was in the news...
December 9, 2004
"Jerry Scoggins, who sang "The Ballad of Jed Clampett" that introduced the comical Clampett clan on "The Beverly Hillbillies," has died. He was 93.
Come 'n listen to my story 'bout a man named Jed
Poor Mountaineer barely kept his family fed
An' then one day, he was shootin' at some food,
An' up thru the ground came a bubblin' crude.
Oil that is.
Black gold.
Texas tea.
Well, the first thing ya know, Jed's a millionaire
Kin-folk said, "Jed, move away from there."
Said Californy is the place y'oughta be,
so they loaded up the truck, and they moved to Beverly.
Hills that is!
Swimmin' pools,
Movie stars!
CLOSING THEME
Well now it's time to say goodbye to Jed and all his kin
An' they would like to thank you folks fer kindly droppin' in.
You're all invited back again to this locality,
T'have a heapin' helpin' of their hospitality.
Hillbilly, that is!
Set a spell,
Take your shoes off!
Y'all come back, y'hear?
Diavolo 12-11-2004, 06:49 PM "Boy the way Glen Miller played,
Songs that made the hit parade,
Guys like us we had it made,
Those were the days.
And you know where you were then,
Girls were girls and men were men,
Mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again.
Didn't need no welfare states,
Everybody pulled his weight,
Gee our old Lasalle ran great,
Those were the days!"

"Hello,world,there's a song that we're singing
Come on,get happy!
A whole lot of lovin' is what we'll be bringing
We'll make you happy!
We had a dream we'd go travellin' together
Just spread a little loving and we'll keep moving on
Something always happens whenever we're together
We get a happy feeling when we're singing a song
Travellin' along there's a song that we're singing
Come on, get happy!
A whole lot of lovin' is what we'll be bringing
We'll make you happy!
We'll make you happy!
We'll make you happy!"
:D

Unrepresented 12-11-2004, 07:44 PM Baby,
If you ever wonder
Wonder whatever became of me
I'm living on the air in Cincinnati
Cincinnati, WKRP.
Got tired of the packing and unpacking
Town to town, up and down the dial
Baby you and me were never meant to be
So maybe think of me once in a while.
I'm at WKRP in Cincinnati
Red_Thunder 12-11-2004, 07:51 PM Some of you are very talented, humming actual lyrics
Foul Temptress 12-14-2004, 10:17 AM Come and knock on our door
We've been waiting for you
Where the kisses are hers and hers and his
Three's company, too!
Come and dance on our floor
Take a step that is new
We've a loveable space that needs your face
Three's company, too!
You'll see that life is a ball again and
laughter is callin' for you
Down at our rendezvous,
Three's company, too!
3scompany and gilligans island.
beatlebabe 12-21-2004, 04:37 PM Baby,
If you ever wonder
Wonder whatever became of me
I'm living on the air in Cincinnati

Various tunes. But I catch myself whistling that bloody tune from "Andy Griffith".
Hey...anyone have the lyrics to that???
*SIC*
Ironweed 12-28-2004, 03:45 PM Ask and ye shall receive. I heard this song once on an oldies station and almost drove off the road. Yep, there was a version of this theme song that had lyrics. Also, I think Andy Griffith may have actually been the one singing it.
The Andy Griffith Show Theme Song Lyrics
Title: "The Fishin' Hole"
By: "Everett Sloane, Earle Hagen and Herbert Spencer"
Well, now, take down your fishin' pole and meet me at The Fishin' Hole.
We may not get a bite all day, but don't you rush away.
What a great place to rest your bones and mighty fine for skippin' stones,
You'll feel fresh as a lemonade, a-settin' in the shade.
Whether it's hot,
whether it's cool,
oh what a spot,
for whistlin' like a fool.
What a fine day to take a stroll and wander by The Fishin' Hole.
I can't think of a better way to pass the time o' day.
We'll have no need to call the roll when we get to The Fishin' Hole.
There'll be you, me, and Old Dog Trey, to doodle time away.
If we don't hook a perch or bass, we'll cool our toes in dewy grass,
Or else pull up a weed to chaw, and maybe set and jaw.
Hangin' around,
takin' our ease,
watchin' that hound,
a-scratchin' at his fleas.
Come on, take down your fishin' pole and meet me at The Fishin' Hole.
I can't think of a better way to pass the time o' day.

After my stint as a designer for WARNER BROTHERS & The CARTOON NETWORK, I still find myself humming this a LOT:

The Night of Nights!
No more rehearsing and nursing our parts...
We know every part by heart!
Overture! Curtain! Lights!
This is it!
We'll hit the heights!
And, oh, what heights we'll hit...
On with the show, THIS IS IT!!
TONIGHT, WHAT HEIGHTS WE'LL HIT...
ON WITH THE SHOW....THIS IS IT!!!!
