Interesting topic. I really find this amazing. It sounds to me like a region of Germany that enjoyed a brief period of freedom before being occupied by the Soviets.

The history of the Soviet Occupied zone of Germany is a truely unknown topic. I really tried to get some info on the net about this but found nothing. I was trying to find some info on how the Soviets recruited former Nazis for the secret police. Its a story so well hidden that even now its hard to find info.
