Last week, we visited a local village to conduct a medical assistance visit and hand out gifts and humanitarian assistance items. There were lots of children present, and they were sure enthusiastic about the visit. They get downright aggressive when it comes to handing out the gifts. We provided things like vitamins, toothbrushes and toothpaste, mittens, hats, water, candy, Frisbees, soccer balls, pens and pencils, etc….
People over here absolutely love to have their pictures taken. They really enjoy being able to look at the screen on the digital camera to see how the picture turns out. Every time I turned around, there was a little kid pulling on my leg saying “Mister, take my picture!”
It would be really handy to have something like a battery powered photo printer, so I could print these out while we’re doing things like this and leave a picture with them. If anybody’s heard of such a thing, perhaps you could point me in the right direction.
Anyhow, here’s just a sampling of the pictures I took:

A lot of the kids had little drawings that they had made, and they were eager to show us.

The village elder got a little frustrated because all the kids were running like a mob over to the truck where we were handing things out – he gave a holler, and they all came to a screeching halt, causing the dust to rise.
