Race relations agreement set for signing
The initial signing of an agreement between Indigenous and non-Indigenous leaders in Kalgoorlie-Boulder will take place today.
The Indigenous Consultation Protocol was developed after the city was tagged as the most racist town in Australia.
Community leaders hope the protocol will help improve race relations.
The president of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kitty Prodonovich, says the agreement is a positive step towards reconciliation.
"Very important from a few aspects, one that the whole community gets behind this and supports this and the other thing is it goes a long way for us all working together and that's what this whole agreement is all about," she said.
