View Full Version : Exercise... Manu 11-20-2004, 06:26 PM How often do you exercise? What do you do? For how long? ThePrankMonkey 11-20-2004, 06:54 PM i havent recently but i like to ride my bike 3-4 times a week for at least 30 minutes of some serious biking each time. helps the cardio! i also have a board, but i havent skated in a while. great for injuries and scabs! lol Brainbuster 11-20-2004, 07:09 PM I'm taking a free aikido class at my community college. It has class three times a week; I've only missed two classes in about two months. It's pretty good excersize. I like it. ThePrankMonkey 11-20-2004, 07:15 PM aikido is incredible. too bad its not free here. i'm gonna cry now. Brainbuster 11-20-2004, 07:28 PM We also work on weapons, the jo and bokken. We also do iaido. It is incredible, plus I'm good at fighting, i plan on sticking with it. eeper69 11-20-2004, 07:31 PM sex Unrepresented 11-20-2004, 07:44 PM I run my ass off every damn day, so that others can sit on their fat asses.:nice: AtariTeenageSuicide 11-21-2004, 01:04 PM i run cross-country at university, so exercise isn't a problem. i get in about 105 miles per week. Baboon 11-22-2004, 10:00 AM I lift weights four times a week, 45 minutes each time. For cardio during the warm months, I ride my bike three times a week on average, anywhere from one hour to four hours depending on the type of riding I do. During the cold months, I ride outdoors maybe once a week, and attend spinning classes otherwise. I also ski and snowboard. FallenAngel 11-22-2004, 10:06 AM I do yoga in the mornings about 4 times a week for about 30-45 minutes, and about 3 times a week I go the city pool and swim laps for about 15-20 minutes. My brother is going to be setting up and exercise room with their exercise bike and a weight bench, so I’ll be adding in weighttraining soon as well. nemolover 11-22-2004, 10:33 AM For me, it totally depends. In the summer I love to bike and hike and stuff. During the winter, I have a hard time getting motivated. In the summer, bikini weather is all the motivation I need.... I am actually joining a gym in the next few days. I have a free trial at a gym nearby and if I like it, I'm going to do the year membership. I usually do 45 minutes of treadmill or eliptical and then 20 minutes of abs and lifting. 302Riz 11-23-2004, 08:38 AM I did join Ballys fitness club 3 years ago but I hardly went. :hmm: When its warm out, I ride my bike about 10 miles every weekend and I play roller hockey. Sparrow 11-23-2004, 08:46 AM I couldn't join another gym myself. They tend to be more like a social club, imo. I was there for one reason only and trolling for dates and gossip wasn't one of them which seemed to be the norm. Best bet is to just set up a room in the house with all the equiptment. It's a lot cheaper also along with being easier to get there. :nice: 302Riz 11-23-2004, 11:41 AM It's a lot cheaper also along with being easier to get there. :nice: Yea, I hated coming home from work after my commute from the city only to get changed and drive out to Copaiuge to do an hour workout. Corporate Avenger 11-26-2004, 06:54 AM I weightlift 3-4 times per week, 1 hour per workout. I'm not really doing any cardio right now, I plan on incorporating something soon, can't run with my back, I get bored quick with things like stationary bikes, so I'll either do some pool skating at one of our new parks or do some sort of hill climbing. Hopefully by next Spring when it warms up I'll be able to start rowing again, talk about an amazing workout! I planned on joining the rowing team at school but they practice 6 days a week at 6:00 am 30 miles from where I live which rules that out.. :nonono: Swappy 11-26-2004, 08:17 PM These days about 30/1 hour of treadmill and bike and an hour or so of weights. Little over a year or so I was pushing 250, now I'm down to 185ish. Judy 12-20-2004, 11:33 PM i am running four times a week at least. the distance is about 3km every time. i love running, esp. in open country. Corporate Avenger 12-21-2004, 05:20 AM I finally found a rowing club where I can go a few times per week and I don't have to be there at 6am, but it doesn't start up until Spring :( oki 12-21-2004, 07:50 PM I cycle to my work 30 minutes, and back ofcoruse. my job is a 2 hour exercize as well. pixing 04-30-2005, 05:42 PM I work out at home 4-5 days a week, more when the weather is perfect but in NE that's rare... 3-4 days lifting ~45 at a go 2-3 days cardio ~30-45 inside and hour if i get to go out and walk/run this week is almost all upper body- 3 yards of mulch being delivered monday being shovelled in by me :) I *like* lifting weights and I like how I feel afterwards - I think the key to any of this is finding a good fit. Spazola 04-30-2005, 10:16 PM How often do you exercise? What do you do? For how long? I pratice soccer every tuesday, and have a game on saturday. Throughout the week, I ride my bike around a lot. But, then again, I'm young and athletic while you are all old farts. So never mind. NaturalTruth 05-24-2005, 03:26 PM But, then again, I'm young and athletic while you are all old farts. So never mind. I'm only 35, and I'm holding up pretty good. I lift, row, cycle, & kayak. Sometimes I box, wrestle, & play judo. I still compete in tournament, & am holding a winning streak of 16 bouts. (Most of my opponents are 5-15 years younger than I am.) I usually get around 2 hours of exercise every day, unless I'm injured, which is the case at the moment. http://www.pryne.com/images/J02c.jpg Mr. Know It All 05-24-2005, 04:19 PM I'm your standard slightly overweight tech worker. However, I would be much larger if I hadn't altered my eating habits and didn't have a toddler\house\dog. I am either working in the yard or taking a walk with the kid and dog. Plus, we are down to one car and I will be riding a bike to the bus a few times a week. I would ride it to work but 40 miles each way is a bit much for me. Imagine my calves after doing that for a month. egads |
