RONKONKOMA, New York (AP) -- A 20-pound frozen turkey was thrown through the windshield of a woman's moving car, critically injuring her, police said.

The bird was tossed out the window of an oncoming vehicle, and a passenger in the 44-year-old woman's car took hold of the steering wheel and guided it to the side of the road, police said.

Police said a group of teenagers had purchased the turkey with a stolen credit card at a supermarket on the same road where the incident happened early Saturday. The teens were being sought for questioning.

..... and the Thanksgiving-related violence begins!

Every year, people are killed in Turkey-related incidents just like this one! When will we learn that Thanksgiving is a violent holiday? Think of poor little joey who just lost his mother because of Turkeys! Try and tell him that Thanksgiving is a fun and festive holliday. Something needs to be done about this! Down with Turkey!

We need more Turkey-control laws in this country. And we need to start enforcing the Turkey-control laws that we already have. Turkey purchasers should have to go through a background check and a waiting period, so we can put an end to the sponteneous use of Turkeys in violent acts.

Police said the turkey was purchased a short time earlier at Waldbaum's on Portion Road and Cenacle Road in Lake Ronkonkoma. Detectives said a videotape at the store shows a group of teenagers using a stolen credit card to make the purchase.
