My daugher was born and the next day they had an earthquake in eastern California in which we could feel it here in Phoenix.

My boy was almost born 2 weeks early, on the early morning of 9/11/01. We were at the hospital all night and they had to stop the labor. Wife stayed, I went home to get some sleep. Turned on the tube and it was going down....
He was finally born 2 weeks later. He's such a sweet fellow.

Bringing them home, especially the first, was such new feeling. Now you've got this tiny life, that is 1/2 of you, that you are totally responsible for.

WOW PB. My son was born 2 weeks early, on 09/08/01 He quit breathing after birth. All good now after breast feeding ect. Lil guy is real bright, thank God.

Rough days those were, in the hospital (I wouldn't leave, slept in closet one night!) watched 9/11 happen at that time. I feel you.

My Daughter was born in a dreadful cold spell, ten days before Christmas, after 23 hours of labor :hmm:. 8lbs 9½oz. The day I left the hospital it was -40°.
My son was born 3 days before my 21st Birthday. Minimal labor :nice:. Whopping 8lb 11oz! Only boy in the hospital, looked huge compared to the two 6lb girls in the nursery.

My son was born 2-26-94 at 5 pm. I had been in labor since 6:30 the previous night. I had horrid back labor, couldn't dilate & few drugs (not by my choice mind you). After 2 hours of pushing they were going to use the vaccuum cap, and if that didn't work, I was going in for a c section. I said hell no & pushed till he came out. After that, I lost a lot of blood, became anemic & required a transfusion. He was healthy though: arrived on his due date, weighed 7 lbs & 21 inches long.

My daughter's story is NOT for the weak at heart. *Warning*

My daughter was born at 10:41am on 8-29-97 weighing 2 lbs 4 oz, 14 inches long. Her due date was 11-5. I had her by emergency c section because I had developed HELLP syndrome. I was admitted to the hospital again the night before (I was in & out that last month) & at that point, my blood pressure was 188/116 (something like that), my liver & kidneys were failing & my platelets were dropping fast. I don't recall much of that night, except vomiting bile & not being allowed to brush my teeth after (fear of bleeding to death from the gums). My husband *barely* made it for the delivery. I wasn't allowed to see her for 3 days after. I couldn't get out of bed, have visitors (not even my son) or even brush my teeth because my platelets were so low. The next day all I remember is having nosebleeds, coughing up blood & vomiting blood. I had some internal bleeding I found out later. They said I was 2 hours away from death, and my daughter probably would've died too. She spent 6 weeks in the NICU & we took her home 10-15-97 weighing 4 lbs 5 oz.
