I had read in several sources about the mass slaughter of over a million people by the Turkish Government during World War 1. The Ottomon Turkish Government feared that their Armenian subjects were willing to collaborate with Russia, who that nation was at war with. As a result they ordered the forced relocation of Armenians. The end result was a slughter of millions of people. The methods of the Turkish army included murder, rape and enslavement of these people.

Today the Turkish Government, now a Republican Government, continues to deny this slaughter. It would be as if the German Government denied that the Nazis killed Jews in WW 2. For several years now, a number of bills were put through US Congress condemming the murder of these Armenians but they were killed by the president, first President Bush, than Clinton and now George W Bush out of fear of upsetting Turkey.

A damm shame if you ask me.

This genocide continues even today, it has been going on consistently with fluctuations. Actually there are a couple Armenian terrorist groups who have fought back at various times. The US government doesnt give a crap though because Turkey is a member of NATO and vital as a base for US military forces as well as a lynch pin in controlling acess to middle east oil reserves.

The turkish government trains Azerbaijani paramilitaries who run forays against Armenia and has impeded delivery of foreign aid to Armenian quite regularly. Its not a systematic massacre like it used to be but it lingers on.

Don't forget the Kurds, we turned a blind eye to Turkey killing them too.

Well considering ive never been to Armenia or Turkey all I can do is go off what I've read and heard from other people. If its of that much interest to you you can look it up or go talk to an Armenian. If you dont believe there is an Azerbaijani Armenian war in which turkey is supporting the Azerbaijanis then I dont know what to tell you.

Also, the Armenians were historical allies of russia and the Soviet Union. In fact the Armenians were one of the few nations to willingly be anexed to the Soviet Union because they sought protection against the Turks. More recently, in the 1990s a bitter struggle errupted between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In the Azerbaijani capital Baku, armed gangs sought out and murdered thousands of Armenian civilians, in some cases burning people alive. Thousands of Armenians fled across the Caspian Sea to escape leaving behind all their belongings. Today there are many armenian refugees around the world, in Isreal, the mid east and even in the US.
